According to Reuters , on March 15, TikTok sent a notice to some US users urging them to support the app ahead of its legal battle in Congress .

"Tell your senator how important TikTok is to you. Ask them to vote against a TikTok ban," TikTok's announcement read. The app even provided users with the phone numbers of individual senators in each state.
TikTok also stressed to its users that if the US Senate passes the bill, the app's future in the US will be over.
Previously, on March 13, the US House of Representatives overwhelmingly passed a bill requiring ByteDance – TikTok's parent company – to divest TikTok's US operations within six months or face a ban. However, the bill still needs to pass a vote in the Senate.
A White House spokesperson said President Joe Biden is ready to sign the bill if it is passed by the U.S. Congress.
A TikTok spokesperson said, "We will continue to keep our users informed about how the bill will affect them and what they can do to ensure their voices are heard."
The warning is displayed when some people open the app and also appears when users search for "TikTok ban".
TikTok sent a similar warning to users ahead of the House vote, stating that " the government will take away the social media that you and millions of other Americans love."
US lawmakers subsequently complained that their offices were flooded with calls from TikTok users protesting the bill.
