Quang Tri province strives to meet at least 60% of the demand for livestock breeds by 2030.

Acting Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Ha Sy Dong has just issued a plan to implement the Prime Minister's projects on developing the animal feed processing industry; slaughtering, processing and marketing of livestock products; livestock breed production; science and technology in the livestock industry; and livestock barns and waste treatment in Quang Tri province by 2030.

The goal of the plan is to strive to meet at least 60% of the demand for livestock breeds for livestock production in the province by 2030. Promote the application of high technology and advanced technology in processing agricultural and industrial products and by-products, food processing, etc. to make animal feed in the direction of industrialization, improving the value of use and economic efficiency.

Industrialization of supplementary feed production has the advantage of providing about 5% - 10% of demand by 2025 and 20% - 25% by 2030. Expanding part of the agricultural land area to produce animal feed ingredients in the direction of industrialization to meet consumption demand in the province.

Forming and building chains linking livestock, slaughtering, processing and consuming products that ensure veterinary hygiene, disease safety and food safety; 100% of livestock and poultry meat traded and sold comes from centralized slaughterhouses that meet food safety conditions and are inspected, stamped with slaughter control and affixed with veterinary hygiene stamps before being circulated on the market.

By 2030, the localization rate calculated by the value of the barn system and barn equipment will reach 80%. Medium and large-scale farms using barns with modern equipment will reach 70%; pig and poultry farms with closed barns will reach 70%.

Ensure that at least 70% of farm-scale livestock facilities have waste treatment systems applying high technology and new technology to ensure disease safety and environmental friendliness towards sustainable livestock farming; 100% of household livestock farms apply effective livestock waste treatment measures.

The plan also specifically sets out the content and solutions for information, propaganda and dissemination work; animal feed; slaughter, processing and market of livestock products; livestock barns and waste treatment; science and technology in the livestock industry.

Priority programs and projects include: Investing in infrastructure to support equipment and technology for livestock development. Attracting investment to encourage organizations and individuals to invest in research, production, and trading of livestock breeds; producing animal feed; slaughtering and processing livestock products.

Training, coaching, capacity building for staff and people in the livestock sector. Investing in facilities, equipment, and capacity building for the Provincial Agricultural Seed Center.
