This is considered the largest vegetarian festival ever, gathering more than 200 booths and expected to attract 150,000 visitors. According to Mr. Nguyen Tan Viet - Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City Culinary Association, Head of the Organizing Committee, this year's event continues the success of the 2023 Vegetarian Food Festival, while expanding the scale, content and community activities.
On an area of over 7 hectares, the festival will be divided into many areas: green - creative cuisine, OCOP - Organic - macrobiotic - recycling, display of Vietnamese vegetarian ingredients, Green Tourism - Green Cuisine - Green Economy forum, along with talkshows, workshops, art performances and demonstrations of artistic vegetarian dishes.
The highlight of the food festival is the "Green Festival - Zero Waste" space, implemented with the Vietnam Food Bank Network (Foodbank Vietnam) and the GreenHero project, with activities such as "Food Waste Recycling Festival", "Kitchen of Love - 1,000 Free Meals" and many community volunteer programs.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Hang - Vice Chairwoman of Binh Phu Ward People's Committee - added that the festival is an opportunity for people and tourists to experience vegetarian cuisine in a green space, while at the same time spreading an environmentally friendly lifestyle and the spirit of sharing.
