The launching ceremony took place in Go Vap District (HCMC) with the participation of Lieutenant General Nguyen Van Nam, Member of the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee, Commander of the HCMC High Command; Colonel Nguyen Cong Anh, Deputy Political Commissar, HCMC High Command and representatives of HCMC agencies.
The launching ceremony of “Day for a civilized, bright, green, clean and beautiful city” aims to continue to effectively implement Directive No. 19 of the Standing Committee of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee on implementing the Campaign “Ho Chi Minh City residents do not litter on the streets and canals, for a clean city and to reduce flooding”. At the same time, the launching ceremony aims to raise awareness and actions of the entire population, maintain regular activities to prevent and overcome pollution from garbage and flooding, and gradually improve the quality of the living environment of local people.
Speaking at the launching ceremony, Lieutenant General Nguyen Van Nam said that over the years, tens of thousands of officers and soldiers of the Ho Chi Minh City armed forces have not been afraid of hardships, ready to rush to the most difficult and dangerous places.
The city's armed forces have devoted thousands of working days to join hands with the Party Committee, government and people of localities in Ho Chi Minh City to build new rural areas, build hundreds of houses of love and affection, clear dozens of kilometers of canals and ditches, plant many trees... contributing to building a civilized, modern and affectionate city.
Therefore, the activity will continue to affirm the role of the armed forces in implementing Directive 19 and responding to World Environment Day on June 5.
Immediately after the launching ceremony, hundreds of officers and soldiers of the Ho Chi Minh City armed forces, along with local agencies, departments, organizations and people, organized clearing, collecting waste, and dredging the canal in Ward 5, Go Vap District (Ho Chi Minh City).
