Awarding UNESCO Documentary Heritage Certificate - Honoring musician Hoang Van and Vietnam's musical cultural heritage

VHO - The concert For Forever will take place on July 24, 2025 at Ho Guom Theater, where a solemn and historic event will take place: The ceremony to award the UNESCO World Documentary Heritage certificate to the family of the late musician Hoang Van.

The concert was attended by leaders, representatives of UNESCO, Vietnam National Commission for UNESCO, Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, along with experts, music lovers and the entire audience.

On the occasion of the 80th anniversary of National Day September 2, Ho Guom Theater organized a concert of works by Musician Hoang Van For Forever . The program is a long song about the homeland and country, commemorating the achievements of building and defending the country of generations of fathers and ancestors and full of hope for the future.

Concert For Forever on the occasion of the musician's 95th birthday and also the occasion of receiving the UNESCO World Documentary Heritage certificate for the Collection of Musician Hoang Van

The program will begin at 8:00 p.m. on July 24, 2025, on the occasion of the musician's 95th birthday and will also be the occasion to receive the UNESCO World Documentary Heritage certificate for the Collection of musician Hoang Van .

Including hundreds of manuscripts, prints, recordings of instrumental, vocal, film music, choral works and documents by musician Hoang Van over more than half a century of composition, the Collection of musical works by musician Hoang Van was officially registered in UNESCO's Memory of the World Program in early 2025.

This is the first time a set of documents in the field of modern Vietnamese music has been recognized as a documentary heritage at the world level, marking an important milestone in the journey of preserving and spreading the cultural and historical values of contemporary Vietnamese music.

With timeless value, this heritage not only reflects the artistic thought of a great musician but is also part of the cultural memory of the Vietnamese people in the 20th century.

For the Future is a long song about the homeland and country, commemorating the achievements of building and defending the country of generations of fathers and ancestors and filled with hope for the future.

The large-scale program gathered more than 200 artists, with the participation of famous artists, professional orchestras and choirs, and many generations of students and associates of musician Hoang Van to honor the monumental career and special artistic heritage of one of the greats of modern Vietnamese music.

In addition to some famous songs that have been imprinted in the memories of many generations, the program introduces many instrumental works, symphonies, suites, children's choirs, works for soloists and orchestra. Many of the pieces have been restored and performed again after a long absence.

The program will be structured as a Hoang Van Symphony with two chapters: Chapter I: Reminiscence; Chapter II: For eternity.

This is a rare opportunity for the audience to enjoy the scholarly side of his compositions – an area often hidden behind familiar songs in more than half a century of composition.

Musician Hoang Van (1930–2018) is a great name in Vietnamese music. He left behind more than 700 works of all genres and forms: songs, choirs, film music, symphonies, instrumental music, children's music..., a rich legacy in which many works have become cultural symbols, accompanying the historical periods of the country.

The program For Forever is not only a memorial event, but also an opportunity to look back at a golden period of Vietnamese music in the 20th century. For Forever is not only the name of the program but also a deep gratitude to the musician who devoted his whole life to music and the Fatherland.
