With active investment, the renewal of tourism products, and continuous improvement in the quality of hospitality, Ninh Binh continues to be a popular destination for many tourists. In the first six months of 2023, the number of visitors to Ninh Binh reached 4.53 million, 2.5 times higher than the same period last year.
In the first six months of the year, Ninh Binh organized many major events such as: the Trang An Festival, the Bai Dinh Pagoda Altar Ceremony, the 1055th anniversary of the Dai Co Viet state and the Hoa Lu Festival, and the Ninh Binh Tourism Week with the theme "Golden Colors of Tam Coc - Trang An"... These events contributed to attracting a large number of locals and domestic and international tourists to Ninh Binh.
In June 2023 alone, the province welcomed nearly 400,000 visitors, an increase of 8.14% compared to the same period last year, bringing the total number of visitors to Ninh Binh in the first six months of the year to 4.53 million. Of these, 4.31 million were domestic tourists and 224,000 were international tourists. Revenue is estimated at over 3,846 billion VND, 2.94 times higher than the same period in 2022.
In particular, the Ninh Binh Tourism Week 2023 event, with its series of cultural and artistic activities and folk games; pedestrian streets and local food markets; performances and displays of traditional handicrafts and OCOP products of the province; and displays and introductions of cultural traces from the Tran Dynasty in the Trang An Heritage Site… attracted 172,000 visitors to Ninh Binh, more than double the number compared to the 2022 Tourism Week.
Despite the large number of visitors, thanks to the synchronized implementation of various solutions, security and order, environmental hygiene, food safety, tourism etiquette, and other conditions for serving tourists at tourist areas and destinations were basically ensured; goods and services for tourists were publicly displayed and sold at the listed prices; leaving a positive impression on tourists visiting and relaxing.
During the first six months of the year, the Department of Tourism also conducted numerous regular and unannounced inspections of tourist areas, attractions, and accommodation establishments throughout the province.
Tourism promotion and marketing activities continue to be invested in and innovated, with many collaborative activities to develop tourism with other provinces and cities. This contributes to widely introducing the image and people of Ninh Binh to a large number of domestic and international friends.
In 2023, the tourism industry is expected to welcome over 5.35 million visitors, with estimated revenue exceeding 5,100 billion VND. The results achieved in the first six months of the year will provide impetus for the industry to continue striving, innovating, and improving the quality of welcoming and serving tourists, contributing to the successful achievement of the set goals.
