The investigation was initiated at the request of the National Chamber of Commerce for Import and Export of Machinery and Electronic Equipment.

The complaints mainly covered products such as locomotives, photovoltaic equipment, wind power and security inspection.

The investigation may last until January 10, 2025, with an additional three months possible in exceptional circumstances.

Trade relations between the EU and China have escalated in recent months after Brussels announced temporary tariffs of up to 38.1% on electric cars imported from the Asian partner, effective July 4.
