Cuu Long University received the Second Class Labor Medal, celebrating its 25th anniversary.

Honored to receive the noble award of the State

On the morning of October 18, Cuu Long University (Vinh Long province) held a ceremony to celebrate its 25th anniversary and receive the Second Class Labor Medal - a noble award recognizing outstanding achievements in training, scientific research and contributions to the education cause.

The ceremony was attended by Central and local leaders and international delegates. On the Vietnamese side, there were Ms. Dang Thi Ngoc Thinh - former Vice President; Mr. Tran Van Ron - Member of the Party Central Committee, Permanent Deputy Head of the Central Inspection Committee ; Mr. Bui Van Nghiem - Member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Head of the Central Internal Affairs Committee; Mr. Huynh Thanh Dat - Deputy Head of the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Committee; and leaders of the Provincial Party Committee and People's Committee of Vinh Long province.

International representatives included Lao Deputy Minister of Information and Communications Santisouk Simmalavong, representatives of the Cambodian Ministry of Defense , and leaders of corporations, research institutes, and businesses from Japan, South Korea, Taiwan, India, and Germany.

Speaking at the ceremony, Associate Professor Dr. Luong Minh Cu, Principal - Party Secretary of Cuu Long University, affirmed: "The collective of staff, lecturers and students always strive to overcome difficulties, constantly innovate to improve the quality of training, research and international cooperation, contributing to training human resources for the region and the whole country."

25 years of construction, affirming the position of the leading private university in the West

Established in 2000, Cuu Long University is one of the first private universities in the Mekong Delta. Up to now, the school has grown strongly in scale and quality, training 38 undergraduate majors, 11 master's majors, 3 first-level specialized majors and 4 doctoral majors.

The school currently has more than 1,200 staff and lecturers, including over 70 professors, associate professors, 241 PhDs and nearly 300 doctors and specialists. The training scale reaches more than 35,000 students, with more than 42,000 bachelors, engineers and nearly 1,200 masters graduated.

The school also focuses on international cooperation and knowledge transfer, implementing many topics and application models in high-tech agriculture, renewable energy, healthcare, tourism and public administration, making practical contributions to the socio-economic development of the region and the whole country.

Assessing the achievements, Mr. Huynh Thanh Dat, Deputy Head of the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Commission, commented: "Cuu Long University has affirmed its position, prestige and mettle as a dynamic and creative university, closely linked to the development process of the Mekong Delta region."

Entering the new phase, the school aims to upgrade to Cuu Long University, with 5 member schools including: School of International Training, School of Health Sciences, School of Social Sciences and Humanities, School of Engineering - Technology and School of Economic Sciences.

Central delegates congratulated Cuu Long University on receiving the Second Class Labor Medal.

Over 25 years of establishment and development, Cuu Long University has achieved many remarkable achievements: meeting the 2nd cycle of educational institution quality accreditation standards, being in the Top 100 most worth-studying universities in Vietnam, Top 10 strong national brands, Top 20 Golden Brands 2024 and Top 10 best universities in Vietnam 2024.

The Second Class Labor Medal is an important milestone, recognizing the 25-year journey of construction and development of Cuu Long University - a dynamic knowledge center, aspiring to rise up for the development of Vietnamese education.
