Diphtheria is an acute infectious disease characterized by pseudomembranes in the tonsils, pharynx, larynx, and nose. It can also appear on the skin and other mucous membranes such as the conjunctiva of the eye or the genitals. Given the complex situation of the epidemic in some localities, the health sector of Lao Cai province is still actively implementing awareness campaigns to educate the public on disease prevention and control measures.
