Indonesia's U23 team brilliantly defeated South Korea's U23 team to achieve a historic feat, securing a place in the semi-finals in their first ever appearance at the AFC U23 Asian Championship.
Indonesia's U23 team continued to cause a sensation at the 2024 AFC U23 Championship by eliminating South Korea's U23 team to advance to the semi-finals.
Indonesia U23 defeated South Korea U23 11-10 in a penalty shootout after brilliantly holding their opponents to a 2-2 draw in 120 minutes of tense play.
This victory helped the Indonesian team achieve a remarkable feat by reaching the semi-finals in their first ever appearance at the AFC U23 Asian Championship.

Coach Shin Tae-yong's team is also very close to securing a ticket to the 2024 Paris Olympics in France. Their next opponent will be the winner of the quarter-final match between Uzbekistan U23 and Saudi Arabia U23.
Before achieving their remarkable feat of defeating South Korea, the Indonesian U23 team had also caused a series of upsets with a 1-0 victory over Australia U23 and a crushing 4-1 win against Jordan U23.
In the recently concluded quarter-final match, the Indonesian U23 team, despite being considered the underdog, started confidently and created numerous difficulties for the South Korean U23 team.
Even more surprisingly, the Southeast Asian football representatives took a 1-0 lead in the 15th minute with a spectacular long-range shot from Rafael Struick that beat goalkeeper Baek Jong Beom.
South Korea U23 then launched an attack and were fortunate to equalize in the 45th minute when Eom Ji-sung's header accidentally deflected off Komang Teguh of Indonesia U23 and into the net.
However, the joy of the South Korean players lasted only three minutes before Rafael Struick punished the lapse in the opposing defense with a goal to make the score 2-1.
The South Korean U23 team then faced immense difficulties when they had to play with ten men from the 70th minute after Lee Young-jun received a red card for a dangerous tackle on an Indonesian player.
But in a difficult situation, the South Korean U23 team managed to equalize 2-2 through Jeong Sang-bin, forcing their opponents into extra time.
In extra time, both teams played with determination, but no further goals were scored, so the winner had to be decided by a penalty shootout.
The two teams then engaged in a crazy penalty shootout. After 12 rounds of penalties, Indonesia U23 defeated South Korea U23 11-10 to advance to the semi-finals in their first ever appearance at the AFC U23 Asian Championship.
