Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nghiem Xuan Cuong has just signed Document No. 2832/UBND-KTTC dated October 1, 2024 on launching a peak period to support forest clearance, sanitation, collection and utilization of forest products in the forest area damaged by storm No. 3. This document is sent to the following units: Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Quang Ninh province; Provincial Military Command, Provincial Border Guard Command, Provincial Police and armed forces units stationed in the area; provincial departments, branches and sectors; People's Committees of districts, towns and cities; Forestry One Member Co., Ltd. companies under the province; wood chip export, purchasing and processing enterprises in the province.
According to the document, due to the impact of storm No. 3 (Yagi), it has caused severe damage to organizations, businesses, households and individuals operating in the forestry sector with more than 117,000 hectares of forest being broken, causing great consequences not only in terms of economy , but also directly affecting the living environment, water sources for daily life and production, deeply affecting the lives and livelihoods of many people who directly live and do business with forestry, especially forest planting enterprises and ethnic minority areas, mountainous areas, border areas and islands. In order to promptly and promptly overcome the consequences of storm No. 3 and minimize difficulties for people who directly live and do business with forestry in the province, the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee requests the Heads of agencies, units and localities on the basis of their tasks, functions and advantages to join hands to support forest owners, focusing on implementing the following tasks:
Proactively mobilize forces to support the recovery of forestry damage; strengthen solutions for forest management and protection, forest fire prevention and fighting; advise, direct, urge, and guide localities, enterprises, and forest owners to overcome the consequences of damage in the forestry sector; propagate and mobilize people and forest owners to support forest cleaning, utilization, and harvesting of forest products. Particularly, the People's Committees of districts, towns, and cities proactively mobilize forces and means to organize and launch a 30-day peak campaign to support forest owners in cleaning, clearing forests, circulating transportation routes, and harvesting forest products in damaged forest areas, determined to complete the work before October 31, 2024; create favorable conditions (warehouses, electricity, etc.) for enterprises purchasing, processing, and exporting forest products to operate at maximum capacity.
Wood chip exporting, purchasing and processing enterprises mobilize maximum resources to overcome damage to facilities, machinery and equipment, ensuring maximum capacity for processing and exporting forest products. Agree with forest owners on purchasing and transportation contents, ensuring product purchasing in the fastest possible time.
The Department of Agriculture and Rural Development performs the responsibility of state management of forestry in the province; coordinates with the People's Committees of districts, towns and cities to transfer the directive documents of the Provincial People's Committee to wood chip exporting, purchasing and processing enterprises in the province and propagates and mobilizes enterprises to implement.
