The Ho Chi Minh City Ring Road 3 project is accelerating its progress, with the nearly 15 km long section through Thu Duc City expected to be technically opened to traffic on December 19, 2025. However, the official opening date has been adjusted to April 2026 to ensure synchronization with other important infrastructure projects.

Overview of Ring Road 3 project
Beltway 3 is a national key project, playing a strategic role in connecting traffic infrastructure and promoting socio-economic development for the Southern Key Economic Zone. Phase 1 of the project has a total length of more than 76 km, with a scale of 4 expressway lanes and parallel roads, passing through Ho Chi Minh City, Dong Nai, Binh Duong and Long An .
The project is divided into 8 sub-projects, with each locality responsible for site clearance and construction. To date, the site handover has been 100% completed, creating favorable conditions for contractors to focus on construction.

Progress details of main items
According to a report from the Ministry of Construction, on December 19, about 29.2 km of highway under the Ring Road 3 project will be technically opened to traffic. Specifically, the section through Ho Chi Minh City is 14.7 km long (mainly an overpass in Thu Duc City), the section through Dong Nai is 5 km long, the section through Binh Duong is 3.1 km long, and the section through Long An is 6.4 km long.
The route through Thu Duc City and Tan Van Interchange
The section of Ring Road 3 passing through Thu Duc City is over 13 km long and is designed as an elevated road with 4 lanes. The route starts from the Ho Chi Minh City - Long Thanh - Dau Giay Expressway and ends at the Tan Van intersection. This is the largest intersection on the entire route, expected to be completed synchronously in 2026.

The official operation of the 14.7 km overpass section will be postponed to April 30, 2026 to ensure synchronous connection and effective operation with Tan Van intersection. This intersection is implemented by a consortium of 7 contractors, including Deo Ca Group Joint Stock Company, Deo Ca Construction Joint Stock Company, and other units, with a contract construction period of 1,050 days.

Progress in other areas
In the western area of Ho Chi Minh City (Cu Chi and Hoc Mon districts), the 32.6 km long crushed stone road is expected to be opened on December 19, 2025 and the entire section will be opened to traffic on April 30, 2026. Problems with construction materials such as sand and stone have been resolved, ensuring supply for the project.

Investment capital disbursement situation
Up to now, the disbursement on the entire Ring Road 3 route in 2025 has reached 4,424/8,141 billion VND (equivalent to 54.3%). Particularly for Component Project 1 (construction and installation of the section through Ho Chi Minh City), the cumulative disbursement has reached 2,619/4,481 billion VND (60.1%).
Investors of component projects are focusing on accelerating construction progress and related procedures to strive to disburse 100% of the assigned capital plan in 2025 and January 2026.

Impact on infrastructure and real estate
When completed, Ring Road 3 will create a vital traffic axis, connecting satellite urban areas and industrial parks. The route passes through many large urban areas such as Vinhomes Grand Park, and is expected to increase the value of neighboring real estate projects such as MT Eastmark and Dong Tang Long residential area.
