Speaking at the Dialogue, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Nguyen Minh Hang stated that, based on the achievements of nearly two decades, BRICS has the potential to play an increasingly larger role in promoting dialogue and coordinating international efforts to address global challenges. In the context of a world undergoing profound and complex transformation, the Deputy Minister proposed that BRICS continue to cooperate with developing countries to promote three key areas. Firstly, strengthening multilateral cooperation, including further consolidating the central role of the United Nations in coordinating global efforts to promote peace , security, and sustainable development; building trust and resolving disputes peacefully based on respect for the principles of the UN Charter and international law. Secondly, enhancing the role of developing countries in governing and implementing global development agendas. BRICS needs to contribute more to accelerating the implementation of sustainable development goals, ensuring that developing countries have access to breakthrough technological achievements, deeper economic integration, and promoting an open, fair, inclusive, and non-discriminatory multilateral trading system. Thirdly, it is necessary to strengthen the resilience, adaptability, and capacity of developing countries in addressing global challenges. BRICS needs to cooperate closely with partners, especially developing countries, in promoting global climate action, contributing positively to global efforts to ensure food security, energy security, as well as disaster prevention and preparedness. Deputy Minister Nguyen Minh Hang affirmed that Vietnam consistently pursues an independent, self-reliant, multilateral, and diversified foreign policy; is a friend, a reliable partner, and an active and responsible member of the international community. The Deputy Minister emphasized that Vietnam is promoting high-quality development, prioritizing green growth and sustainable development, innovation, and enhancing self-reliance with the people at the center of its development strategy. Vietnam is ready to actively contribute to the activities of global, inter-regional, and regional cooperation organizations and mechanisms for peace, cooperation, and development. Vietnam will host the Partnership for Green Growth and Global Goals 2030 (P4G) Summit in 2025 and hopes to cooperate with other countries to promote global efforts for green growth and sustainable development.
