Viettel 's virtual legal assistant application helps judges and civil servants in the court system reduce their workload by 30% compared to traditional methods. The virtual assistant, researched and developed by Viettel, continuously updates with the world's most advanced technologies in speech synthesis, recognition, natural language processing, and search.

On September 6th, the Vietnam Military Telecommunications Group (Viettel) announced the successful testing of a virtual legal assistant for the court system. This is currently the only virtual assistant in Vietnam possessing a large and reliable legal knowledge base. The application of this technology helps reduce workload by 30% compared to traditional methods, optimizing the operational time of the entire current court system.

Viettel's engineering team consulted successful data integration models around the world in building a virtual assistant for the Vietnamese court system.

The virtual legal assistant possesses a comprehensive legal knowledge base with over 160,000 legal documents, 63 precedents, and more than 1 million judgments, including over 1,200 cassation decisions and over 80,000 appellate judgments provided by the Supreme People's Court . This legal knowledge database allows users to easily and accurately search for legal documents, supporting litigation activities.

After more than a year of testing, the virtual legal assistant has been used over 3 million times, with an average of 5,000-6,000 inquiries and searches per day. As of August 2023, the virtual legal assistant has supported over 12,000 accounts for 100% of judges and civil servants in the court system.

Unlike conventional search systems, virtual legal assistants can provide guidance on legal texts and case law; instruct on how to handle specific legal situations; introduce similar court judgments and decisions for reference; assist judges in conducting litigation; and in the future, may assist in making judicial judgments.

Virtual assistants help civil servants in the court system reduce their workload by 30% compared to traditional methods.

To ensure the legal assistant's responses are natural and approachable, Viettel's engineering team consulted and tested large-scale language models. Simultaneously, the system integrated deep learning models and semantic search algorithms, allowing inspectors to easily and accurately retrieve legal documents.

This system is specifically designed for the Vietnamese language, therefore it has superior processing capabilities for dialects from various regions, with a voice that is 96% similar to a real human voice. Accordingly, Viettel aims to provide a virtual legal assistant for Vietnamese citizens, helping them anticipate legal situations they encounter, contributing to the goal of popularizing legal knowledge and reducing the burden on the court system in general.

The legal virtual assistant is developed based on the Vietnamese-language virtual assistant platform (Viettel Cyberbot), a product of the Viettel AI ecosystem, which has been successfully applied in ministries, departments, provincial governments, and businesses as a virtual call center for COVID-19 prevention and control, answering questions about public administration, and customer service call centers. Successful pilot deployment in the court system is also a stepping stone for Viettel to successfully build and develop a virtual assistant for civil servants, contributing to the development of a digital government and a digital society in Vietnam.
