Wild elephants break into people's houses, destroy property, and look for food at dawn.

On the afternoon of June 11, the leader of the People's Committee of Nam Son commune (Quy Hop district, Nghe An province) said that an elephant had just entered a house and destroyed property and crops.

Accordingly, early in the morning of the same day, a large elephant suddenly entered a house in Nam Son commune, bordering Bac Son commune. This elephant destroyed some crops in the garden and then went into the house to look for food.

While foraging for food, the elephant knocked over some wooden houses. After finding sugarcane and bananas, the elephant left.

Discovering a large elephant descending into a residential area, the locals shouted, beat drums and lit fires to chase it away. After being chased away, the elephant escaped into the forest.

“This is a female elephant that has lived in the forest in this area for several decades. Recently it came down to destroy crops but did not harm people.

Recently, local authorities have regularly propagated to raise people's vigilance and not attack or harm wild elephants," informed the leader of Nam Son commune.
