Accordingly, in the early morning of the same day, a large elephant suddenly entered a house in Nam Son commune, bordering Bac Son commune. The elephant destroyed some crops in the garden and then went inside the house to look for food.

While foraging for food, the elephant knocked over wooden panels used to build houses. After finding sugarcane and bananas, the elephant left.

Discovering a large elephant descending on a residential area, people shouted, beat drums and lit fires to chase it away. After being chased away, the elephant fled into the forest.

“This is a female elephant that has lived in the forest in this area for several decades. Recently it came down to destroy crops but did not harm people.

Recently, local authorities have regularly propagated to raise people's vigilance, not to attack or harm wild elephants," informed the leader of Nam Son commune.
