Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee Standing Vice Chairman Ho Ky Minh emphasized this point at the conference summarizing international integration and cooperation work for the period 2021-2025 and outlining directions for the period 2025-2030, organized by the City People's Committee on the morning of September 26.
Attending the event were Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Le Anh Tuan, Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee Ngo Xuan Thang, Standing Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Ho Chi Minh City Ho Ky Minh; along with Ambassadors, representatives of diplomatic missions, consular offices, international organizations, non-governmental organizations, and business associations.
Concluding the conference, Standing Vice Chairman of the Da Nang City People's Committee Ho Ky Minh emphasized that the First City Party Congress, for the 2025-2030 term, set the goal of building Da Nang into a national growth pole by 2030, a pioneer in science and technology , innovation, and digital transformation; with a vision to become an ecological, smart city, a center for finance, free trade, industry, logistics, innovative startups, and world-class tourism by 2045.
With that spirit in mind, the city's leaders are committed to upholding the view that international integration is a task for the entire political system.
Accordingly, the city established a Steering Committee for International Integration, which directly developed action programs, resolved difficulties, and promptly directed major policies, helping grassroots levels proactively integrate and shift their mindset from "participation" to "actively and proactively contributing and proposing initiatives".
The city is leveraging international resources and promoting economic diplomacy with new impetus. With its increased potential after the merger, Da Nang affirms that it will quickly finalize the operational mechanisms of the International Financial Center and the Free Trade Zone, creating a transparent investment environment, encouraging public-private partnerships, and expanding regional and international linkages.
Promoting local brands through cultural values and creating new spaces; building the brand "Da Nang - an international tourism center," connecting the heritage sites of Hue, Hoi An, and My Son, where the heritage route will become a tourism highlight.
Simultaneously, the city mobilizes the strength of the entire population and the entire political system to participate in international integration and cooperation. The city focuses on three strategic pillars: creating a superior advantage with high technology, high-quality tourism, and synchronous infrastructure development; green and sustainable development; and mobilizing international financial resources such as the World Bank, ADB, and JICA to develop green infrastructure.
The ultimate goal is to build and position Da Nang as an international city associated with the image of a "green, smart, and livable city," with high competitiveness in the Asia-Pacific region.

Speaking at the conference, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Le Anh Tuan highly appreciated the conference theme: "Da Nang: New Space, New Driving Force, Embracing Integration and Development," which reflects Da Nang's strategic vision in the new phase.
The city's proactive organization of a conference on integration immediately after merging with Quang Nam demonstrates innovative thinking and a determination to affirm its position as a new growth pole of the country.
The Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs emphasized that Da Nang needs to seize the historical opportunity arising from the merger to develop into a regional economic, cultural, and innovation center; promote economic diplomacy, showcase local culture, attract international resources, and build a safe and integrated living environment.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs affirmed that it will continue to accompany and support Da Nang in its local foreign affairs work, contributing to realizing the aspiration of building a strong, prosperous, and happy Vietnam.

Reporting at the conference, Director of the Department of Foreign Affairs Nguyen Xuan Binh stated that during the period 2021-2025, Da Nang welcomed more than 3,000 international delegations. To date, the city has established cooperative relations with 60 localities in 24 countries across 5 continents, signing 120 cooperation agreements.
Over the past five years, the city has licensed 797 FDI projects with a total capital of over US$1.07 billion, focusing on high technology, logistics, and tourism. The city's total import and export turnover is estimated at US$41 billion. The city received VND 14,883 billion in ODA capital and VND 1,432 billion from non-governmental aid.
Tourism and the startup ecosystem have recovered and developed impressively; cultural promotion has been effective, affirming the city's position as a safe and friendly international city. The city has also implemented numerous defense and security cooperation activities, contributing to maintaining sovereignty and a peaceful environment.
At the conference, the Department of Foreign Affairs signed cooperation agreements with the State Committee for Overseas Vietnamese (Ministry of Foreign Affairs) and the Representative Office of Chungcheongnam Province (South Korea).
On this occasion, the Chairman of the People's Committee of the city awarded certificates of merit to 18 collectives and individuals, both domestic and international, who have made positive contributions to the implementation of international integration and cooperation in the period 2021-2025.
