Yen Bai uses electricity economically to ensure electricity supply during hot season

In recent days, the North in general and Yen Bai in particular have been facing a severe heat wave, with temperatures sometimes exceeding 40 degrees Celsius. Faced with extreme weather conditions, Yen Bai Electricity Company has proactively implemented a series of solutions to ensure stable and safe electricity supply for people and businesses.

According to data from the Dispatch Center, Yen Bai Electricity Company, the chart of capacity and electricity output in Yen Bai province was the largest on June 1 at over 214 MW. On June 2, due to the hot weather, the amount of electricity consumed was high, the maximum capacity reached nearly 258 MW. On June 3, although the temperature had decreased compared to June 2, the electricity capacity was still at nearly 250 MW. The electricity supply during the recent hot days was still guaranteed, without any incidents. However, if the hot weather continues, the transformer stations will be at risk of being overloaded. Therefore, the Company has deployed many solutions to be ready to respond.

Mr. Nguyen Xuan Thuy - Deputy Director of Yen Bai Electricity Company said: "To ensure stable electricity supply for production, business and daily life activities during this year's hot season, the Company has promptly developed plans and solutions with synchronous solutions from investment, construction, management and operation. At the same time, the Company has increased inspection and maintenance of the power grid system; installed additional cooling equipment, reduced power loss; and reasonably coordinated power sources for each area and each time of day. In addition, propaganda and recommendations for people to use electricity economically and effectively have also been promoted through many information channels. Thanks to these efforts, despite the high electricity load, the power supply situation in the area has been maintained stably, contributing to minimizing the risk of local power outages during the peak hot season".

Since the beginning of the year, Yen Bai Electricity Company has directed the electricity departments of districts, towns and cities to inspect and review the entire power grid system, medium and low voltage lines, arrange forces to detect and handle unusual phenomena or incidents, and develop plans to rotate distribution transformers with appropriate capacity to ensure power supply in case of extreme heat.

Mr. Cao Hung Cuong - Director of Yen Binh Electricity said: "Preparing for this year's hot season, the unit has increased inspections of medium voltage lines and distribution transformer stations, low voltage lines under the management of the unit; speeding up the implementation of grid repair contents". Joining hands with the electricity industry, production and business establishments and local people also raise awareness about saving electricity.

Ms. Tran Thi Hien - Director of Tien Thanh T&T Cooperative, Tran Yen district affirmed: "During its operation, the Cooperative always focuses on saving electricity by raising awareness among staff and members; applying modern technical and technological measures to minimize electricity loss, using energy-saving equipment, contributing to the goal of sustainable development".

Faced with complicated weather developments, especially the high demand for electricity during the hot season, which can cause local grid overload or power outages, especially during peak hours, Yen Bai Electricity Company recommends that customers have a plan to use electricity safely, economically and effectively, especially not to use large loads at the same time during peak hours to avoid incidents; encourage customers to use rooftop solar power and energy-saving devices. The electricity industry hopes to have close coordination with local authorities in handling violations of the grid safety corridor and promoting and propagating people to use electricity economically and effectively.

Ensuring electricity supply during the hot season is an urgent task not only for the electricity industry but also requires the cooperation of the whole society. Using electricity rationally and economically not only helps reduce pressure on the power grid but also contributes to protecting energy security, reducing living costs and improving the quality of life.
