On the morning of July 16, the entire Vietnam U23 team attended an online meeting on preventing corruption in football organized by the Southeast Asian Football Federation (AFF) for teams participating in the 2025 Southeast Asian U23 Championship.

At the meeting, AFF representatives disseminated many important contents related to preventing negativity, especially emphasizing regulations and mechanisms to prevent and handle acts of match-fixing, bribing players or referees, as well as other forms of fraud.
The ultimate goal is to ensure fairness and transparency for every match, thereby enhancing the position of tournaments in the region.
AFF also recommends that members of the Vietnamese team absolutely do not participate in match-fixing, do not be tempted or bribed, do not disclose internal information, and do not collude with any outside parties for the purpose of profiteering.
The governing body of Southeast Asian football stressed that anyone found involved in corruption will face severe consequences, including legal prosecution and a permanent ban from football activities.

In addition to raising awareness among players, coaching staff and related parties, AFF also emphasizes the role of close cooperation with investigative agencies, police and international sports anti-fraud organizations to promptly share information and coordinate the handling of negative incidents that may arise. This is one of the key factors to enhance the effectiveness of anti-corruption work in modern football.
In addition, the meeting also disseminated fair-play regulations, emphasizing the prohibition of all acts of violence on the field, and instructing players on measures to protect themselves from the risk of encountering collisions or violent acts during competition.
This afternoon (July 16), coach Kim Sang Sik and his team will return to the training ground to continue to complete preparations for the opening match against U23 Laos, taking place at 5:00 p.m. on July 19.
