On October 19, Ho Chi Minh City-based market research firm Outbox Company announced the ranking of the 10 most popular domestic and international destinations for Vietnamese tourists in the third quarter. The results are based on data from Vietnam Travel Market Tracker, a model for researching and tracking Vietnamese tourists' travel behavior that is updated every quarter.

The most favorite destination for Vietnamese tourists in the country is Ba Ria - Vung Tau with 16.5% of the votes. In the first two quarters of the year, this destination also achieved the top position thanks to its convenient location and proximity to Ho Chi Minh City. Ba Ria - Vung Tau was rated by tourists as having "beautiful scenery and reasonable costs suitable for the current tastes of Vietnamese people". Da Nang and Hanoi ranked second with more than 10.2% of the votes. Ho Chi Minh City ranked fourth and Nha Trang ranked fifth. In the second quarter, Da Lat replaced Nha Trang in the rankings.

Regarding international destinations, South Korea is the most chosen international destination in the third quarter with a total of nearly 26% votes (an increase of more than 9% compared to the second quarter). Thailand ranked second, down 5.94% in votes compared to the previous quarter. Japan continued to be in the third position among international destinations chosen by Vietnamese tourists. Taiwan and mainland China ranked fourth. Compared to previous quarters, destinations in Asia, especially Northeast Asia, are always the top priority for Vietnamese tourists in this quarter because it coincides with the time to see the yellow and red leaves of autumn.

More than 70% of customers voted Vietnam Airlines and Vietjet Air as the two leading domestic airlines for travel. Each airline has its own advantages, with Vietnam Airlines being popular for its quality service and Vietjet Air having competitive prices.

In the online travel agency (OTA) category, international brands still dominate as most Vietnamese customers choose to use the services of Traveloka, Booking and Agoda. Tripcom is a new representative in the top 5 with Mytour, replacing Expedia's position in the previous quarter.
