Vietnamese doctor elected as President of Southeast Asian Joint Replacement Association

At the 17th annual conference of the Southeast Asian Joint Replacement Association (AAA) recently held in Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia), Dr. Tang Ha Nam Anh was elected President of the AAA Association for the 2025-2026 term.

AAA is a professional association established in 2007 with the aim of connecting Southeast Asian countries in the field of joint replacement. Over the past 17 years, the association has successfully organized annual conferences rotating among countries in the region to share experiences, train, and transfer joint replacement techniques to doctors in the region.

The AAA has also connected with continental associations such as the Asian Joint Replacement Association and joint replacement associations around the world to open joint replacement courses for orthopedic trauma specialists. At the same time, it has created connections between doctors in the region through the form of exchanging doctors to study between countries (traveling fellowship).

According to the regulations, the duty of the country assuming the role of president is to organize the annual conference of the association to update the latest knowledge on joint replacement for members; connect the association with sub-associations in each country, organize doctor exchanges to study between countries; organize basic and advanced courses on joint replacement for doctors and support countries in the association in the field of joint replacement.

According to Dr. Tang Ha Nam Anh, Vietnam has experience in successfully organizing an in-depth conference on endoscopy and sports medicine with the Southeast Asian Association of Endoscopy and Sports Medicine (ASSA) in 2024; successfully organizing an in-depth conference on joint replacement with the Asia Pacific Joint Replacement Society (APAS) in 2025 and successfully organizing training courses on endoscopy and joint replacement... so it has been trusted to be the president of the 17th AAA Association this term.
