At the ceremony, the head of the Naval Region 5 Command presented the decision to hand over the comrades' house to two soldiers in difficult circumstances, including: Major Pham Van Thuc, Engine Operator, Radar Station 605, Regiment 551 and Lieutenant Dao Ngoc Huan, 37mm Gun Squadron Leader, Ship 253, Squadron 512, Brigade 127.

The family of Professional Military Major Pham Van Thuc was supported with 60 million VND from the Ministry of National Defense 's "For the Poor" Fund to build a 100m² house. The family of Professional Military Lieutenant Dao Ngoc Huan was supported with 80 million VND from the Navy's "For the Poor" Fund to build a 110m² house.
The remaining funds for both projects were saved by the family and supported by relatives. The houses were constructed over a period of more than 4 months, ensuring progress, quality and suitability to the living conditions of each family.

Speaking at the ceremony, Colonel Ngo Van Thanh said: The Party Committee and Command of Naval Region 5 always identify taking care of the material and spiritual life of officers and soldiers as one of the core and consistent contents in leadership, command and management. Supporting the construction of comrades' houses for soldiers with difficult housing circumstances is an activity with profound humanistic meaning, demonstrating the affection and care of leaders at all levels for officers and soldiers of the unit.
"The comrade houses built are not only a warm and affectionate home, but also a support for soldiers to feel secure in their attachment and contribute more to their units. Thereby, it contributes to encouraging, motivating, and helping military families to reduce difficulties and have more conditions to improve their lives," said Colonel Ngo Van Thanh.

Since the beginning of 2025, the Naval Region 5 Command has handed over 7 comrade houses to soldiers working in units under the Region. Supporting the construction of comrade houses is one of the practical activities of the Region towards the 80th anniversary of the successful August Revolution (August 19, 1945 - August 19, 2025) and the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam (September 2, 1945 - September 2, 2025); welcoming the 14th Congress of the Navy Party Committee and celebrating the 50th anniversary of the establishment of Naval Region 5 (October 26, 1975 - October 26, 2025).
