Today, June 25th, the Quang Tri Provincial People's Committee held a working session with a delegation from the Nhan Dan Newspaper to coordinate the organization of the political and artistic program "The 17th Parallel - Aspiration for Peace " to commemorate the 70th anniversary of the Geneva Agreement (July 21st, 1954-2024) and the 70th anniversary of the Vinh Linh tradition (August 25th, 1954-2024). The art program "17th Parallel - Aspiration for Peace," organized by People's Television of People's Newspaper, will last 100 minutes and will take place at 8 PM on July 19, 2024, at the Hien Luong - Ben Hai National Special Historical Site. It will be broadcast live on People's Television, Quang Tri Radio and Television Station, and many other radio and television stations nationwide.
The program consists of a ceremonial part and an artistic part with 5 chapters: The Days of July; As If There Were No Separation; Blood and Flowers; Where the Strength of Vietnam is Seen; Prosperous Land - Heroic Nation. The program concludes with a high-altitude fireworks display. Participating in the program are famous singers: Anh Thơ, Trọng Tấn, Tùng Dương, Vân Khánh, Mai Chi, Bạch Trà, the Lavender dance troupe... with many unique and lively singing, dancing, short plays, and theatrical performances.
The Nhan Dan newspaper proactively funded the entire event and requested the Quang Tri province to support the reception of delegates, ensure security and order, traffic management, logistics, and mobilize extras...

During the meeting, representatives from relevant departments, agencies, and localities contributed many ideas to help refine the program script to the best possible standard.
Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Hoang Nam acknowledged and highly appreciated the idea and script of the political art program "The 17th Parallel - Aspiration for Peace". He emphasized that this is a humane and compassionate program that achieves the goals of commemorating the 70th anniversary of the Geneva Agreement and the 70th anniversary of Vinh Linh's traditions, as well as contributing to deepening the meaning of the 2024 Peace Festival organized by the province in July.
The delegation requested that the Nhan Dan Newspaper arrange LED screens for the public to watch the program; carry out the procedures for granting permits for high-altitude fireworks; and provide program information so that the province can coordinate media coverage before, during, and after the event. Quang Tri Province will assign specific tasks to relevant units to support and facilitate the delegation's requests in order to coordinate and ensure the successful organization of the program.
