Binh Thuan Trade Union: Reorganizing and adapting to new tasks

With many innovations in content and methods of operation, the Provincial Federation of Labor (FFL) has well performed its mission of protecting legitimate and legal rights and interests, affirming its role as a solid support for union members and workers. Together with agencies and units in the province, Binh Thuan Trade Union has actively reorganized and streamlined its apparatus, preparing for a new journey of increasingly effective operation.

The last working days before the new government apparatus is put into operation. At the departments, offices, and agencies of the Provincial Federation of Labor, the working atmosphere and spirit of the staff, civil servants, public employees, and workers are extremely urgent and serious, in order to meet the requirements of the work progress set out, so that from July 1, it will become a member organization under the Provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee.

As of May 31, Binh Thuan Trade Union has 10 district, town and city Labor Federations, 7 industry-level unions and 1 affiliated unit. The team of workers and laborers in Binh Thuan is growing in both quantity and quality. Currently, the whole province has more than 82,000 workers, civil servants and laborers, of which nearly 81,000 are union members and the non-state sector has nearly 42,000 union members. Therefore, taking care of material and spiritual life is one of the top priorities of Binh Thuan Trade Unions at all levels. Welfare programs and support for union members and laborers in difficult circumstances are always given timely attention. In particular, union members with housing difficulties have been supported with funds to build warm homes, helping to realize their dream of settling down and working and producing with peace of mind. From 2009 to present, Binh Thuan province's trade unions at all levels have supported the construction of 385 "Union Shelters" houses, with a total value of more than 11 billion VND.

At the launching ceremony of Workers' Month 2025, Mr. Do Huu Quy - Chairman of the Provincial Federation of Labor affirmed: The Union not only cares about superficial activities but also focuses on substantive activities, bringing practical benefits to the lives of workers. This is reflected in the union's participation in the process of negotiating, signing and supervising the implementation of the provisions of the collective labor agreement, especially issues related to safety and labor hygiene. Responsibility in supporting female workers in difficult circumstances; visiting and giving gifts on the occasion of Tet, serious illness, work accidents...

In the first 6 months of 2025 alone and during Workers' Month with the theme: "Vietnamese workers are pioneers in entering a new era", a series of programs and activities were organized to create strong influence and attention from the whole society, especially employers and authorities at all levels, to the jobs, lives and issues of workers. The trade union at the direct superior level and the grassroots trade union spent over 23.8 billion VND to take care of Lunar New Year for workers in difficult circumstances; implemented the welfare program "Discounted sales for 2,000 union members and workers", and reproductive health check-ups for female workers. In addition, many cultural and sports playgrounds were organized to improve the spiritual life of union members; commended and promoted "Good examples of workers studying and following Uncle Ho's teachings" and honored "Good workers - Creative workers"...

Take a new step

From June 15, the activities of the executive committee, standing committee, and inspection committee of the trade unions at the level directly above the grassroots administrative agencies, armed forces, and public service units receiving 100% of their salaries from the state budget will end, leaving only trade unions of enterprises and public service units not receiving 100% of their salaries from the state budget. The reorganization aims to streamline the apparatus, in line with the 2-level local government model, while improving the effectiveness and efficiency of trade union activities in the new period. A journey has ended. A new journey has begun towards building a "both red and professional" trade union team to join hands with the province to develop the socio-economy, ensure national defense - security, and better social security.

For each union official, over the years they have become a beautiful, silent, and enduring symbol. They are not only inspirational, but also a solid support for workers. When union members are sick, families are in difficulty, especially during the days of fighting against the Covid-19 epidemic, the encouraging messages and small gifts from the union organization seem to add more spirit to each union member and employee to be more confident, holding hands to overcome. And even though they have entered a new journey, they are always proud of having been a part of the big union family.
