At around 7:30 a.m. on October 3, authorities found the body of Nguyen Hoang Anh K. (born in 1993, Tu Tao 2 group, ward 11, Da Lat city) swept away by floodwaters while passing through the spillway.
The victim was found at a stream near Hang Cop waterfall, nearly 10km downstream from the accident site.
Previously, SGGP Newspaper reported that at 1:30 p.m. at the spillway in Xuan Thanh village, Xuan Tho commune, Da Lat city ( Lam Dong province), Mr. Nguyen Hoang Anh K. was driving a small truck with license plate 49C-284.23 through the spillway when he was suddenly swept away by water pouring in from upstream.
Immediately after the incident, local people and authorities coordinated to search for the person who was swept away by the flood. At the scene, the truck was swept away by the flood about 10m from its original location.
It is known that the spillway where the incident occurred is about 20m long. At that time, there was heavy rain and the water level over the spillway rose.
The case is currently being investigated and clarified by the authorities.
