The 4th Congress of Ethnic Minorities of Tuyen Quang City

Attending the Congress were comrade Nguyen The Giang, member of the Provincial Party Executive Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; leaders of the City Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee and 150 delegates representing over 26,000 ethnic minorities in the city.

During the 2019-2024 term, ethnic work in the city has achieved many positive results; the targets of the resolution of the 3rd Congress of Ethnic Minority Delegates have all been achieved and exceeded.

From 2021 to 2024, the city has mobilized over VND 8.9 billion to implement 10 projects to support ethnic minority people under the Target Program for Socio -Economic Development in Ethnic Minority and Mountainous Areas; mobilized over VND 8.6 billion to implement 4 projects and 2 sub-projects to support poor and near-poor households from the National Target Program for Sustainable Poverty Reduction...

With the theme "Ethnic groups unite, innovate, promote advantages, potentials, integrate, build Tuyen Quang city to develop quickly and sustainably", the 4th Congress of Ethnic Minorities of the city has set out 7 specific goals, 9 tasks, main solutions and 5 solutions to focus on implementing in the 2024-2029 term.

In particular, strive to reduce 20% of poor ethnic minority households out of the total number of poor ethnic households of the year; 100% of households have access to television; 100% of medical stations meet national standards and have doctors working; 70% of ethnic minority workers undergo training, education, etc.

Speaking at the Congress, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen The Giang commended, acknowledged and congratulated the results achieved by the Party Committee, government and ethnic minority people of the city.

He suggested that in the coming time, the city should continue to fully, promptly and effectively implement policies for prestigious people, poor households, ethnic minorities, religious organizations, dignitaries and followers, which need to be regularly implemented in accordance with regulations; focus on completing urban infrastructure, building high-tech livelihood models, bringing great added value to generate income for people.

At the same time, ensure that people's lives have equal living standards between urban and rural areas; pay attention to implementing well the work of education and training, improving people's knowledge, developing human resources for ethnic minority areas; promote the role of prestigious people in the community and a number of other important contents.

At the Congress, the Chairman of the City People's Committee awarded Certificates of Merit to 5 collectives and 10 individuals with outstanding achievements in ethnic work, period 2019-2024.
