
Attending the conference were: Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam and Head of the Central Propaganda Department Nguyen Trong Nghia; Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam and Deputy Prime Minister Le Minh Khai; Deputy Head of the Central Economic Committee Nguyen Duc Hien; and President of the Vietnam Confederation of Commerce and Industry Pham Tan Cong. The conference was conducted in a hybrid format, combining in-person and online participation, connecting to 4,322 locations.
At the conference, Deputy Head of the Central Economic Committee Nguyen Duc Hien reported on the main contents of Resolution 41. Accordingly, Resolution 41 affirms that the business community holds an important position and role, being one of the core forces contributing to the acceleration of industrialization, modernization of the country, and international integration. It also emphasizes building and developing an independent and self-reliant economy, ensuring national defense and security. Furthermore, it stresses strengthening linkages and cooperation among businesspeople, and between businesspeople and workers, farmers, and intellectuals, to jointly achieve the goal of national development.
In addition, Mr. Hien also summarized: The Resolution sets out the overall goal of developing a strong team of entrepreneurs in terms of quantity, quality, and rational structure, possessing vision, intelligence, ethics, entrepreneurial spirit, legitimate wealth creation, dynamism, creativity, advanced management capabilities, compliance with the law, ethical business practices, and a business culture with national identity. They should also be socially responsible, environmentally conscious, and make worthy contributions to the country's development goals.
According to Mr. Tran Duy Dong, Deputy Minister of Planning and Investment, the Government has just issued Resolution No. 66 dated May 9, 2024, on the Government's Action Program to implement Resolution No. 41-NQ/TW dated October 10, 2023, of the Politburo on building and promoting the role of Vietnamese entrepreneurs in the new era.
Mr. Dong stated that the action plan aims to have at least 2 million businesses by 2030, fostering the formation and development of many entrepreneurs who will lead strong economic groups with significant potential and competitiveness in both domestic and international markets, playing a pioneering and leading role in key sectors of the economy.
Specifically, between now and 2030, at least 10 Vietnamese entrepreneurs will be included in the list of the world's US dollar billionaires, and 5 of the most powerful entrepreneurs in Asia, as selected by prestigious international organizations. By 2045, the goal is to have a number of entrepreneurs who own corporations capable of leading industrial and agricultural value chains, moving towards the formation of several Vietnamese value chains in priority sectors where the country has strengths.
Delivering a keynote address at the conference, Mr. Nguyen Trong Nghia, Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam and Head of the Central Propaganda Department, affirmed that the Party and State of Vietnam have always paid attention to building and developing the business community. Over the years, the Vietnamese business community has continuously developed strongly in both quantity and quality, inheriting the tradition of patriotism, upholding the spirit of self-reliance and self-improvement, and contributing to the nation.
Mr. Nghia suggested that every entrepreneur should always uphold business ethics and culture, study and follow the moral ideology and style of Ho Chi Minh. He emphasized the social responsibility of Vietnamese entrepreneurs, promoted patriotic emulation movements among entrepreneurs, aiming to successfully achieve set goals, enhanced respect for the law and a spirit of community service, and resolutely fought against corruption and negative practices in business. He stressed the importance of not colluding with corrupt and degenerate officials, and not sacrificing the state and community for personal or business gain.
