
The Ministry of Construction has just issued a decision approving the adjustment of the component project of the Vung Ang - Bung section of the North - South Eastern Expressway construction project in the 2021 - 2025 period.
Accordingly, the Vung Ang - Bung expressway has been fully invested in the section Km576+700 - Km579+610, including the works on the route such as Deo But tunnel, bridge No. 5, bridge No. 6..., ensuring the scale of a class 100, 6-lane expressway.
Deo But Tunnel has invested in completing the tunnel tube on the left side of the route with a length of 716m with the following items: Completing the road surface drainage system; railings for maintenance and inspection; tunnel lining painting; cement concrete road surface on crushed stone aggregate base layer; equipment for tunnel operation (electrical lighting system, ventilation, fire prevention and fighting...).

Bridges No. 5 and No. 6 will be built with additional units on the left side of the route, the bridge width will be suitable for the expanded roadbed.
The scope of adjustment also determines the completion of the approach road section in the area before and after the tunnel to ensure a complete cross-sectional scale of 6 lanes and a roadbed width of 32.25m.
With the above plan, the total project investment remains unchanged, maintaining the approved value of 12,548 billion VND, only adjusting the value of cost items in the total investment.
The Vung Ang - Bung expressway belongs to the North - South expressway construction project in the East phase 2021 - 2025, with a length of 55.34 km passing through the two provinces of Ha Tinh (12.9 km) and Quang Tri (42.44 km) with the starting point intersecting with National Highway 12C, connecting with Ham Nghi - Vung Ang expressway in Ky Hoa commune (Ky Tan commune, old Ky Anh district), Ha Tinh province and the end point in Bo Trach commune (Cu Nam commune, Bo Trach district, old Quang Binh province), Quang Tri province, connecting with Bung - Van Ninh expressway.
The project is invested by Project Management Board 6 (Ministry of Construction). At the investment phase, the expressway has 4 lanes, no emergency lane, and a number of emergency stops are arranged every 4-5km with a roadbed width of 17m and a design speed of 60-90 km/h.
Deo But Tunnel is designed with 2 single tunnels. In the investment phase, only the right tunnel has 2 lanes for motor vehicles in opposite directions. In the completion phase, each tunnel has one-way traffic, ensuring 6 lanes for motor vehicles.
