Large-scale project, wide scope of influence
The investment project to build runway No. 2 and synchronous works at Phu Cat Airport is a grade I aviation project, with a total investment of more than 3,245 billion VND of budget capital managed by the province.
Of which, construction capital is more than 2,177 billion VND and more than 1,067 billion VND for compensation and site clearance (GPMB). Project implementation period is from 2025-2028.

Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Tu Cong Hoang said: The project is important in promoting socio-economic development, ensuring national defense and security for the South Central and Central Highlands regions in general and Gia Lai province in particular.
Therefore, the Provincial People's Committee requested the Provincial Project Management Board of Traffic and Civil Works to closely coordinate with Division 372, Regiment 925, Regiment 940, Phu Cat Airport, localities and related units to focus on speeding up the progress of compensation and site clearance (GPMB), promptly handing over clean site to the construction contractor to carry out construction according to the required schedule.
The scope of the project is quite large. About 300 households and 6 organizations are located within the project's land acquisition and compensation area with a total land area to be compensated and recovered of 196.91 hectares, including 87.47 hectares of land managed by the province and 109.44 hectares of national defense land.
In addition, 128 households and 3 organizations owning 12.85 hectares of land within the scope of land acquisition and clearance to build 3 resettlement areas: Tan Le (Phu Cat commune), Vinh Phu (An Nhon Bac ward), Tan Nghi (An Nhon ward) and the reburial area of Tan Le village, Phu Cat commune need to be relocated. The workload is huge, requiring functional sectors and local authorities to take part with a high sense of responsibility.
Actively deploy
With close and responsible coordination between the Provincial Traffic and Civil Works Project Management Board and local authorities, compensation and site clearance work for the project achieved positive results.
Up to now, the Management Board has handed over 37 hectares of clean land managed by the province to the contractor to construct the project items. At the same time, the clean land has been handed over to the contractor to build 3 resettlement areas and 1 reburial area in Phu Cat commune, An Nhon ward, and An Nhon Bac ward.
Compensation and site clearance work for the project received consensus from residents and businesses, including Thien Hung My Tho Company Limited - the investor and business owner of the infrastructure of Doi Hoa Son Industrial Park (An Nhon ward).
Mr. Ta Van Manh - Deputy Director of the Company - said: The common interests of the province must be put first. With that in mind, immediately after receiving the land acquisition policy, the Company decided to hand over 21 hectares of land in the industrial cluster to the province first to implement the project, and the calculation and payment of compensation will be done later.
According to the Provincial Traffic and Civil Works Project Management Board, localities are continuing to confirm the origin of agricultural land of the remaining 64 households within the scope of runway 2. Of which, Phu Cat commune has 31 households, An Nhon ward has 24 households, An Nhon Bac ward has 9 households, as a basis for making a compensation plan for the people.
Mr. Bui Quoc Nghi - Chairman of Phu Cat Commune People's Committee - said: This week, the compensation and site clearance working group of the commune will confirm the origin of the land and make a compensation plan for 30/31 households.
There is one case of land dispute within the family, the commune will work specifically with this household. In case the family cannot resolve the dispute themselves, the commune will organize enforcement and land recovery.
Meanwhile, leaders of An Nhon and An Nhon Bac wards also committed to soon completing the confirmation of land origin and making a compensation plan for the people.
“The locality is determined to confirm the land origin of 24 households located within the scope of runway 2, as a basis for developing a compensation and land recovery plan in December 2025,” affirmed Mr. To Hoa Nha, Vice Chairman of An Nhon Ward.
According to Mr. Ngo Anh Tuan - Deputy Director of the Provincial Traffic and Civil Works Project Management Board, the remaining workload is quite large, the unit will continue to closely coordinate with functional agencies and localities to completely resolve each part of the work; strive to hand over the entire clean site to the construction unit as soon as possible.
