Nearly 14 thousand people worked during the September 2nd holiday at Long Thanh Airport Project

(DN) - On August 30, Vietnam Airports Corporation (ACV) said that, implementing the Prime Minister's directive, "3 shifts, 4 crews", "overcoming the sun, overcoming the rain, not losing to storms", construction "through holidays, Tet, and holidays", during the National Day holiday of September 2, at the Long Thanh International Airport Project Phase 1, the units still mobilized nearly 14,000 experts, engineers, workers, and laborers to work through the holidays.

Along with that, to serve the construction of the packages, the contractor consortiums also mobilized about 3,000 machines to the construction site, organizing hundreds of construction teams.

Component 3 Project - construction of essential works in the airport - currently has 11 packages being implemented simultaneously. Of which, package 5.10 alone (construction and installation of equipment for the passenger terminal, the most important item of the Long Thanh Airport Project Phase 1), the joint venture contractor mobilized nearly 6,000 workers and machines and maintained continuous construction throughout the National Day holiday on September 2.

Up to now, the passenger terminal project has completed the underground reinforced concrete structure and 4 floors, and has basically completed the installation of steel structure, installation of glass wall support frame, rough construction and is implementing the finishing work of the floor, ceiling, and tiling.

Equipment systems serving terminal operations such as: Baggage handling (BHS), aircraft landing gear (VDGS), escalators, and pedestrian stairs (ES/MW) have also had materials and equipment transported to the construction site by the contractor and are being installed.

For the construction packages of other important project items such as: Intra-port traffic and technical infrastructure; fuel supply system; connecting traffic; aircraft parking; second runway; cargo terminal, the joint venture mobilized thousands of human resources and machinery to speed up construction. The target set by the investor and contractors is to basically complete the project before December 19, 2025, put into operation and commercial exploitation in the first half of 2026 according to the direction of the Prime Minister .

Also according to ACV, during the holidays, workers who work during the holidays are paid by the contractor according to State regulations. The investor also arranges enough staff to monitor and ensure the construction is carried out safely and with quality.
