The calls come after two French experts said the mystery of Malaysia Airlines flight MH370 could be solved within days if a new search was launched.

Earlier this week, aerospace expert Jean-Luc Marchand and pilot Patrick Blelly called for a new search based on existing data about the flight's fate.

The two experts called on the Australian Transport Safety Bureau, as well as the Malaysian government and exploration company Ocean Infinity, to launch a new search for the missing plane.

In a speech to the Royal Aeronautical Society (RAS), two experts said the new search area for MH370 could be covered within 10 days.

"We have a small area proposal and it will take 10 days to look at new possibilities. That could be a quick job. Until the MH370 debris is found, no one knows what happened. However, this is a reasonable trajectory," said expert Marchand.

Both added that at the time of the crash, the plane's transponder was turned off and that a turn was not possible on autopilot. And Marchad described the missing flight MH370 as likely being flown by an experienced pilot.

Jiang Hui, whose mother Jiang Cuiyun was on Flight MH370, said the search for the missing plane had always been the family's "core pursuit." "Nowadays, there are new technologies that can locate new locations. I think they are all worth trying," Jiang said.

But Song Chunjie, a relative of another victim, said the experts' calls for a search were futile. "A new search should be led by the Malaysian government, because it would cost a lot of money and they would need to hire a professional search and rescue team," Song said.

Mr. Song put his faith in the professionalism of Ocean Infinity, a US-based marine robotics company that embarked on a three-month search for MH370 in 2018. He added that professional equipment and experienced personnel were needed for the search “and the rest is nonsense.”

On the evening of March 8, 2014, a Malaysia Airlines plane carrying 239 people on board, including more than 150 Chinese citizens, left Kuala Lumpur for Beijing. However, it suddenly disappeared from radar screens about 2 hours after departure.

A large-scale search operation involving several countries was conducted in the southern Indian Ocean but neither the plane nor its wreckage was found.

However, the families of those on board the plane never gave up hope and made efforts to pursue finding the truth.
