What are the prices for medical examination and treatment at public health facilities in Ho Chi Minh City after the merger?

The Ho Chi Minh City People's Council has just passed Resolution 399, unifying the prices of medical examination and treatment at medical facilities managed by Ho Chi Minh City, after completing the rearrangement of administrative units.

The People's Council of Ho Chi Minh City has just issued Resolution 399 regulating specific prices for medical examination and treatment services on the list paid by the health insurance fund; specific prices for medical examination and treatment services paid by the state budget; specific prices for medical examination and treatment services not on the list paid by the health insurance fund but not medical examination and treatment services upon request at state-owned medical examination and treatment facilities managed by the city.

This resolution takes effect from August 28, and applies to state-owned medical facilities managed by Ho Chi Minh City, except for medical facilities that self-insure their investment and regular expenses.

In case a patient is being treated at a medical examination and treatment facility before the effective date of this resolution, the medical examination and treatment service price level prescribed by the competent authority before the implementation of the price level prescribed in this resolution shall continue to be applied until discharge from the hospital or the end of the outpatient treatment period.

According to resolution 399, Ho Chi Minh City has just agreed to have over 10,000 categories of medical examination and treatment techniques.

This list includes: prices for medical examination and consultation services; prices for hospital beds/day; prices for technical and testing services; prices for technical services performed using anesthesia methods, excluding drugs and oxygen used for the service.

In the list covered by health insurance, the medical examination fee ranges from 36,500 - 50,600 VND depending on the level; the consultation fee to determine a difficult case is 200,000 VND.

For the list of services not covered by the health insurance fund, but not on-demand services: the price for examination, issuance of injury certificate, medical examination is 160,000 VND; health examination for workers, drivers and periodic health examinations are both 160,000 VND. The price for comprehensive health examination for labor exporters is 450,000 VND.
