The Ho Chi Minh City People's Council has just issued Resolution 399, which stipulates the specific prices for medical examination and treatment services included in the list covered by the health insurance fund; the specific prices for medical examination and treatment services covered by the state budget; and the specific prices for medical examination and treatment services not included in the list covered by the health insurance fund, and not services requested on demand at state-owned medical facilities managed by the city.

This resolution takes effect from August 28th and applies to state-owned medical facilities managed by Ho Chi Minh City, excluding those that are self-sufficient in covering investment and operating expenses.

In cases where patients were receiving treatment at a medical facility before this resolution came into effect, the service fees for medical examination and treatment as stipulated by the competent authority before the implementation of the fees in this resolution shall continue to apply until their discharge from the hospital or completion of their outpatient treatment.

According to Resolution 399, Ho Chi Minh City has recently standardized over 10,000 medical examination and treatment techniques.

This list includes: prices for medical examination and consultation services; prices for hospital bed services/day; prices for technical and laboratory services; prices for technical services performed using anesthesia methods, excluding medications and oxygen used for the service.

In the list of services covered by health insurance, the cost of a medical examination ranges from 36,500 to 50,600 VND depending on the level; the cost of a consultation to determine the difficulty of a case is 200,000 VND.

For services not covered by health insurance but not on demand: the fee for examination and issuance of injury certificates and medical assessment is 160,000 VND; occupational health examinations, driver's health examinations, and periodic health checkups are also 160,000 VND. However, a comprehensive health checkup for migrant workers costs 450,000 VND.

The daily hospital bed service fees are regulated as follows: intensive care unit (ICU) treatment/organ transplantation/bone marrow transplantation/stem cell transplantation from 799,600 - 928,100 VND/day; emergency resuscitation bed from 346,400 - 558,600 VND/day depending on the level...
