Following their victory in the Northern qualifying round of the 2025 Vietnam Workers and Public Employees Football Tournament, the Vietnam People's Public Security Union football team is maintaining a training intensity of one session per week to stay in shape in preparation for the final round, which will take place from October 31st to November 2nd in Ho Chi Minh City.
Although each player has different jobs, they all try to arrange time to train and play friendly matches to hone their tactics, test different playing styles, and assemble a team in preparation for the finals.
Reinforce the forces.
Speaking to Tuổi Trẻ newspaper, head coach Lê Quang Long said that the Vietnam People's Police Union team has been strengthened by adding 6 new players to the squad in preparation for the finals taking place in Ho Chi Minh City.
"We've added six police officers from various units in the North, including prison guards and riot police. These guys also used to play football in the HPL (National 7-a-side Football League). Among them are prominent names like Tú "the bald" and Việt "the mortar," Coach Lê Quang Long informed.
Along with strengthening the squad, coach Le Quang Long also removed some players from the list of participants in the finals. The Vietnam People's Police Union football team, built on personnel from PVF,FPT units, and police officers, will still have a core group of players including Nguyen Cong Dinh, Nguyen Son Tra, Vu Cong Nhat Anh, and Nguyen Hieu Trung. Among them, striker Nguyen Cong Dinh was the top scorer in the Northern qualifying round with 10 goals in 6 matches.
"We haven't had time to research and learn about the opposing teams from the South yet. However, having qualified for the final, they are certainly not weak teams," said Coach Quang Long.
Focus on building a strong defense.
At the 2025 Vietnam Workers' and Public Employees' Football Championship Finals, the Vietnam People's Public Security Union team will maintain a defensive counter-attacking style of play, building a solid defense to keep a clean sheet before thinking about attacking to score goals. This is the playing style that helped Coach Quang Long's team win the Northern qualifying round championship.
"In our first appearance at the tournament, we were fortunate to win the qualifying round and will continue to strive to go as far as possible in the finals. We will focus on specific goals in each match, starting with getting through the group stage," said coach Quang Long.
On October 29th, the Vietnam People's Public Security Trade Union team will fly to Ho Chi Minh City. The team will have two training sessions there before competing in the finals. The Vietnam People's Public Security Trade Union is one of six teams from the North participating in the finals, alongside the Hai Phong Trade Union, the Vietnam Banking Trade Union, the Hanoi Trade Union, the Bac Ninh 1 Trade Union, and the Bac Ninh 2 Trade Union.
