Vietnam Workers and Civil Servants Football Tournament 2025: Police players want to go deep in the finals

After winning the Northern qualifying round of the 2025 Vietnam Workers and Civil Servants Football Tournament, the Vietnam People's Public Security Trade Union football team is maintaining training with an intensity of 1 session/week to maintain their form in preparation for the final round which will take place from October 31 to November 2 in Ho Chi Minh City.

Although each person has different jobs, the players all try to arrange time to practice and play friendly matches to practice tactics, test playing styles and assemble the team in preparation for the finals.

Strengthening forces

Speaking to Tuoi Tre, head coach Le Quang Long said that the Vietnam People's Public Security Trade Union team has been strengthened by adding 6 new players to the squad to prepare for the final round taking place in Ho Chi Minh City.

"We have added 6 police officers from many units in the North, including prison police and mobile police. These brothers also played football in HPL (National 7-a-side Football League). Among them are prominent names such as Tu "bald" and Viet "coi"", coach Le Quang Long informed.

Along with the addition of forces, Coach Le Quang Long also removed some personnel from the list of players participating in the final round. The squad of the Vietnam People's Public Security Union team was built based on personnel from PVF,FPT units and police officers, and will still have the main framework revolving around players Nguyen Cong Dinh, Nguyen Son Tra, Vu Cong Nhat Anh, Nguyen Hieu Trung. In which, striker Nguyen Cong Dinh was the top scorer of the Northern qualifying round with 10 goals after 6 matches.

"We have not had time to research and learn about the opposing teams in the South. However, having passed the qualifying round to reach the final, they are certainly not a weak team," said coach Quang Long.

Focus on building a solid defense

At the 2025 Vietnam Workers and Civil Servants Football Championship Finals, the Vietnam People's Public Security Trade Union team will maintain a defensive counter-attacking style of play, building a solid defense to keep a clean sheet before thinking about attacking to score. That is the way of playing that helped coach Quang Long's team win the Northern qualifying round championship.

"In our first participation in the tournament, we were lucky to win the qualifying round and will continue to try to go as far as possible in the finals. We will focus on each specific goal through each match, first of all, passing the group stage," said coach Quang Long.

On October 29, the Vietnam People's Public Security Trade Union team will fly to Ho Chi Minh City. The team will have two training sessions here before the opening of the final round. The Vietnam People's Public Security Trade Union is one of six northern teams participating in the final round, along with the Hai Phong Trade Union, the Vietnam Bank Trade Union, the Hanoi Trade Union, the Bac Ninh 1 Trade Union and the Bac Ninh 2 Trade Union.
