On the morning of September 27th, Ship 265 of Brigade 175 (Region 5 of the Vietnam People's Navy) docked at the military port of Region 5 ( Kien Giang ), successfully concluding the 76th joint patrol with Ship 1144 of Ream Naval Base, Royal Cambodian Navy.

Previously, on September 26th, in the historic waters of Vietnam and Cambodia, Ship 265 and Ship 1144 conducted their 76th annual joint patrol in accordance with the Regulations on Joint Patrols and Establishment of Communication Channels between the Vietnam People's Navy and the Royal Cambodian Navy, signed by the Commanders of the two navies on September 14th, 2002.

During the patrol, both sides conducted the ASEAN naval greeting procedure (Hello ASEAN); exchanged information; practiced flag signals; and trained in the use of the Code of Conduct for Unplanned Encounters at Sea of the Western Pacific Navies (CUES).

Lieutenant Colonel Le Manh Cuong, Deputy Commander of Brigade 175 and commander of the Vietnamese Navy patrol vessel, stated: In addition to implementing the contents of the Joint Patrol Coordination Regulations, through communication channels, officers and soldiers of Ship 265 and Ship 1144 have actively propagated and encouraged fishermen of both countries to strictly abide by the law and regulations when exploiting marine resources at sea, and not to infringe upon the sovereignty of other countries.

Furthermore, the navies of the two countries have organized exchange activities and exchanged gifts at sea. This has increased understanding and trust, contributing to maintaining security, order, peace, and stability in the historically significant waters between Vietnam and Cambodia.
