A large fire broke out at around midnight on July 19th in alley 389, Truong Dinh Street, Hanoi . The flames rose high, accompanied by a large column of smoke, engulfing the factory area and causing panic among residents.
According to a reporter from Lao Dong Newspaper at the scene, by nearly 2 AM that same day, a large crowd of people had gathered at the entrance of alley 389 Truong Dinh to follow the developments of the fire.
Upon receiving the report, the Hanoi City Fire and Rescue Police force, in coordination with other functional units, quickly arrived at the scene. Numerous fire trucks and officers and soldiers were mobilized to carry out firefighting and rescue operations.
Speaking to Lao Dong newspaper, Ms. Hoa, a witness present at the scene, said that at around 11:50 PM, she heard a loud explosion and saw flames erupting from a warehouse near her house.
According to Ms. Hoa, the area where the fire occurred used to be a company that supplied fruits and vegetables, and is currently being leased out as a warehouse.
Residents living near the fire said that this area is frequently used for overnight parking. When the fire broke out, many people shouted warnings and quickly moved their cars out of the dangerous area to ensure their safety.
By 2 a.m., the fire was still raging and had not been brought under control.
