In particular, the entire journey is carried out without stopping to charge or refuel, affirming the superiority of Super Hybrid System technology - the "no-charge electric vehicle" solution that is shaping a new standard for the electric vehicle industry.
Conquering the Central region – Real challenges, real results
The Super Hybrid Marathon with J7 PHEV (SHS) takes place from May 6 to May 8, 2025 with the participation of more than 30 press agencies nationwide.
Starting from the starting point O&J Long Bien ( Hanoi ) on the morning of May 6, the J7 SHS convoy headed south, passing through cool green roads such as Cuc Phuong forest, Noi Tranh lake, then stopped at O&J Vinh on the first day - where the pure electric operation was clearly tested through a mixed urban and highway route.
On the second day, the convoy continued its journey across Dong Loc Intersection, Quang Tri wind farm and Hue ancient capital, demonstrating the smooth coordination between electric motor and gasoline engine on long routes. The smooth and sturdy suspension system of Jaecoo J7 also maximized its efficiency, helping the vehicle to be stable and absorb shock well even on rough or bumpy roads - bringing distinct comfort to the driver and passengers on long journeys.
The climax of the journey came on the third day when the convoy conquered Hai Van Pass, a route that requires high power, high traction and precise body control. Here, the Jaecoo J7 PHEV (SHS) continued to affirm the superiority of Super Hybrid technology and a stable operating system, before officially reaching the finish line in the coastal city of Quy Nhon.
Traveling nearly 1,500km from Hanoi to Quy Nhon in 3 consecutive days without needing to visit a charging station, Jaecoo J7 PHEV (SHS) delivers a smooth and powerful pure electric driving experience. This impressive result is thanks to Super Hybrid System technology - the world's leading hybrid technology, created and developed by Omoda & Jaecoo.
SHS technology: Electric motor operates as main engine – Gasoline only supports
Unlike traditional hybrids, the Jaecoo J7 PHEV (SHS) has a completely different operating structure. The electric motor plays the main driving role , while the gasoline engine only acts as a generator , charging the battery when needed. The SHS's intelligent self-charging mechanism allows the battery to be maintained stably through three sources: charging from the gasoline engine, regenerating energy when braking or coasting, and recovering energy during smart operating phases. It is this system that helps the Jaecoo J7 PHEV (SHS) maintain a journey of nearly 1,500km without any interruption due to energy reasons - something unimaginable for pure electric vehicles today.
In addition, with a fuel consumption of 0.52L/100km for the first time (certified by the Department of Registration) and an average fuel consumption of only 3.6L/100km during the actual journey, the J7 PHEV (SHS) has demonstrated its outstanding efficiency. Notably, the 160.4km of all-electric operation shows that the J7 PHEV (SHS)'s ability to maintain EV mode is long enough to meet most daily journeys in urban areas, where users travel with frequent stop-starts.
More importantly, the entire journey took place without stopping at any charging stations, something that most current electric vehicles cannot do. This is the breakthrough difference: taking advantage of the advantages of electric vehicles while solving the biggest weakness - dependence on charging infrastructure.
With Super Hybrid System technology, Jaecoo J7 PHEV (SHS) not only brings fuel-efficient performance, but also frees users from the worry of "running out of battery in the middle of the road". Therefore, the car is not only suitable for short trips, but is fully capable of accompanying on long trips - even when there is no nationwide charging network.
The 1,499.62km journey is not a destination, but a starting point for a new definition of electric vehicles – where users are no longer forced to choose between economy and convenience. With Jaecoo J7 PHEV (SHS), Omoda & Jaecoo have proven that “electric vehicles without charging” is not just a concept – but has become a reality. And now, that reality is no longer far away from Vietnamese users.
J7 PHEV (SHS) is the first hybrid car model that Omoda & Jaecoo Vietnam introduced to customers from January 2025. In addition to the world's leading advanced Super Hybrid System technology, the car is also equipped with a series of smart technologies such as ADAS system with 20 outstanding features, 14.8-inch central screen to optimize the experience, 50W wireless fast charging, electric seats, seat memory + heating and cooling, 540-degree camera... In particular, the car model is also certified with the prestigious 5-star Euro NCAP, bringing peace of mind to customers on every journey.
