Speaking at the signing ceremony, Chairman of the City People's Committee Le Trung Chinh stated that the Statistics Department and other agencies and units have seriously implemented the Statistics Law as well as relevant current legal regulations; organized statistical surveys in accordance with regulations, ensuring the set progress and quality.
However, coordination among stakeholders still has some shortcomings and limitations, lacking timeliness, especially during urgent times when quick and detailed information is needed; some indicators and statistical data lack consistency in scope.
Furthermore, some departments, agencies, and localities have not paid sufficient attention to statistical work and the use of statistical information published by competent authorities in their guidance and management...
The signing of coordination regulations aims to strengthen accountability and organizational capacity in implementing functions and tasks among agencies; it serves as a basis for creating a rigorous process that ensures compliance with current legal regulations and the practical situation of the city.
At the same time, coordination regulations will facilitate the provision of truthful, objective, and timely statistical data and information; contributing to helping leaders at all levels, sectors, and localities formulate accurate and effective socio -economic development orientations, plans, and strategies.
On the other hand, this is a prerequisite for the successful implementation of the Vietnam Statistical Development Strategy for the period 2021-2030, with a vision to 2045, in Da Nang city.
Chairman of the City People's Committee Le Trung Chinh also requested that, based on the signed agreements, agencies and units continue to uphold their roles and responsibilities, and organize the implementation of contents related to each sector and field within their management scope. This will ensure the best possible support for the leadership and management of the city and contribute to the successful implementation of the socio-economic development programs and goals.

According to the signed regulations, the General Statistics Office will provide and share with the Customs Department and the Departments of Industry and Trade, Tourism, Construction, and Transport information, data, statistical reports, and statistical publications based on the provincial-level statistical indicator system.
Conversely, departments and agencies provide the General Statistics Office with statistical reports according to regulations and statistical data and information within their respective areas of management; they also coordinate in carrying out other tasks related to the field of statistics such as statistical surveys, training, and professional development in statistics.
Accordingly, the regulations on coordination in statistical work and sharing of statistical information were developed with 3 chapters and 11 articles. Specifically, Chapter 1 contains general provisions with 4 articles, including: scope of application; subjects of application; objectives; and principles.
Chapter 2 contains four specific provisions: coordination in collecting and disseminating statistical information; coordination in carrying out professional and technical activities; coordination in information sharing; and methods of information sharing. Chapter 3, on implementation, contains three provisions: assignment of responsibilities, meeting procedures, and enforcement clauses.
Reportedly, by the end of 2023, the General Statistics Office had signed cooperation and information sharing agreements with five agencies and units, including: the Tax Department, the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, the Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs, the Department of Health, and the Da Nang Post Office.
