The exhibition is part of a series of activities commemorating the 78th anniversary of the Day of War Invalids and Martyrs, aiming to promote the role of museums in disseminating and educating about historical and cultural traditions and fostering community cohesion, while also expressing profound gratitude for the contributions of heroes and martyrs.
The exhibition, running from July 16th to August 10th, showcases 78 sketches by martyrs and artists who directly participated in combat in Zone V. Many of the valuable works on display are by martyr and artist Ha Xuan Phong and the late artist Nguyen Duc Hanh.
These sketches, though simple and unadorned, are vivid and realistic, depicting the arduous lives of soldiers on the front lines and the heroic moments amidst the smoke and fire of war. They also represent authentic experiences and vibrant historical accounts, showcasing the courageous fighting spirit of the soldiers.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Hoi An, Deputy Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Da Nang City, shared that through 78 sketches by artists who directly participated in the fighting in Zone V, the exhibition has created a simple yet profound artistic space.
Each sketch is like a piece of memory, a slice of history, marking life on the battlefield, where patriotism, courage, and the yearning for peace are movingly expressed.
The choice to hold the exhibition at the Monument to the Heroic Vietnamese Mother – a beautiful symbol of the silent sacrifices of Vietnamese mothers – further highlights the spiritual values that the exhibition aims for: respect, gratitude, remembrance, and national pride.
