According to the City Statistics, as of August 2025, the number of workers working in industrial enterprises increased by 1.98% compared to the previous month and increased by 5.47% compared to the same period last year. This shows that industrial production activities continue to maintain growth momentum, create more jobs and contribute to stabilizing the labor market.
Many processing, manufacturing and high-tech industries recorded strong increases in labor use. Notably, the shipbuilding industry increased by 37%, reflecting a recovery in orders and high demand for human resources.
Production of prefabricated metal products increased by 19.37%; production of electronic products, computers and optical products increased by 15.85%. This shows a shift towards high-tech, high value-added sectors. In addition, production of wooden furniture, chemicals and chemical products also increased by 9-11%.

On the other hand, some secondary industries have seen a decrease in the labor index. Pollution treatment and other waste management decreased by 12.12%; tobacco production decreased by 7.59%; electrical equipment production decreased by 5.55%; machinery and equipment production decreased by 4.15% and repair, maintenance and installation of machinery and equipment decreased by 3.17%. The main reasons come from the narrowing of the market, the impact of consumer policies or the trend of enterprises restructuring towards automation.
In general, the current situation of industrial labor use in the city continues to grow steadily, but there is a clear differentiation. Traditional industries tend to reduce labor, while the processing, manufacturing and high-tech industries continue to expand. This is a positive signal, reflecting the process of shifting the industrial labor structure towards modernity, posing the requirement to increase training and improve skills to meet new development needs.
