The opening match of EURO 2024 between host Germany and Scotland will take place at 2am on June 15 (Vietnam time). According to information on the UEFA homepage, French referee Clement Turpin (42 years old) will be the referee for this match.
Assisting Mr. Clement Turpin are two fellow countrymen, Nicolas Danos and Benjamin Pages, while the fourth referee is also French, Francois Letexier.
The VAR room will be controlled by French referee Jerome Brisard and assistants Willy Delajod and Massimiliano Irrati at the opening match of EURO 2024.
Mr. Clement Turpin was born in 1982 and started his refereeing career in Ligue 1 (French National Championship) in 2008. Clement Turpin became a FIFA referee in 2010.
In 2012, this referee in black became a referee in the Elite group (highest level) of UEFA. Referee Clement Turpin is considered a prestigious referee in Europe and refereed the 2022 European Cup C1 final when Real Madrid beat Liverpool 1-0.
In addition, the referee teams for the second match day (June 15) have also been determined. Mr. Slavko Vinčić will officiate the match between Hungary and Switzerland, Mr. Michael Oliver will officiate the match between Spain and Croatia, while German referee Felix Zwayer will officiate the match between Italy and Albania.
