(NB&CL) The 17th Vietnam Journalists Association Table Tennis Championship - Sao Vang Cup 2024 will officially take place on the morning of December 1 at Cau Giay Stadium. Before the Tournament, reporters from Nha Bao & Cong Luan Newspaper had a conversation with Ms. Le My Ai Linh, Acting Director of the Center for Culture and Journalism, Permanent Deputy Head of the Organizing Committee about the preparations for the Tournament.

Ensuring the best playing conditions

+ Overcoming many difficulties and challenges to organize the 17th Vietnam Journalists Association Table Tennis Championship - Sao Vang Cup 2024, what efforts has the Organizing Committee made to prepare for this highly anticipated Tournament, Madam?

- The Organizing Committee has faced many difficulties but we always set the highest goals for the professionalism and scale of the tournament. The fundraising work has been implemented methodically, all funding has been socialized. The competition venue, equipment and refereeing work have all been carefully prepared to ensure the tournament is successful and create the best conditions for the athletes. This is a sports playground that table tennis-loving journalists across the country look forward to every year. In addition to trying to maintain it every year, the Organizing Committee always tries to have more innovations to improve the quality of the tournament.

+ The 17th Vietnam Journalists Association Table Tennis Championship - Sao Vang Cup 2024 not only changed its name but also had innovations in organization and preparation. Can you share more about this year's innovations?

- This year's tournament has a new name to create a highlight and be associated with the brand of the main sponsor, Sao Vang Beer, Alcohol and Beverage Joint Stock Company SAVABECO. In addition, the process has been upgraded with the support of individuals and professional organizers. Digital platforms such as fanpages have also been created to update tournament information more quickly and accurately, meeting the needs of athletes and spectators.

The competition venue has changed compared to previous years (Trinh Hoai Duc Gymnasium), this time, the Organizing Committee has chosen Cau Giay Gymnasium which has better competition conditions. The change of venue means that the competition time during the day will be shortened. The competition starts at 8am and ends at 5pm, so the Organizing Committee has adjusted the regulations, accordingly, both men and women can only register for 3 competition events. To be more professional, the Organizing Committee has regulations on the competition attire of athletes.

+ So, madam, how has the Organizing Committee issued competition regulations, instructions, competition schedule... and prepared facilities to ensure the best service for the competing athletes?

- The Organizing Committee has carefully prepared the regulations applying international competition regulations, adjusting the regulations to ensure strictness, fairness, and at the same time increase the drama and competition between teams. The competition venue is Cau Giay Stadium, equipped with modern facilities, ensuring competition standards. Competition equipment and logistics such as schedules and field division are all organized scientifically . This year, for the first time, the "Titanium" super table, unprecedented in previous seasons, was put into use, serving the final matches.

Expectations of a united, professional, impressive sporting event

+ This year, how do you evaluate the response to the Award from Journalists Associations at all levels nationally, especially local Journalists Associations?

- All levels of the Journalists Association, central and local press agencies have actively responded to the tournament, from implementing plans to creating conditions for members to participate. Members from the provinces in the North, Central and South all spent time practicing and exchanging to prepare best. With the participation of nearly 200 athletes from 40 delegations, it shows that the Tournament has become a meaningful playground, connecting journalists across the country.

+ This year, the Organizing Committee focuses on communication work, bringing information to digital platforms so that the tournament continues to spread widely. How is this being implemented, madam?

- The Organizing Committee has built a separate fanpage to update information related to the organization of the Tournament. On the fanpage, the Organizing Committee's implementation activities such as: Press conference; Draw for group division; or summary information about the regulations; awards, athletes and groups... are fully and regularly updated with diverse forms of expression to help grasp information quickly, easily and vividly.

In addition, the opening and closing ceremonies and some exciting, dramatic and decisive matches will be broadcast live on the airwaves and digital platforms of Hanoi Radio and Television, helping the tournament become more attractive, widespread and more widely accessible to the public.

+ In just a few days, the 17th Vietnam Journalists Association Table Tennis Championship - Sao Vang Cup will officially open. What does the Organizing Committee expect from the success of this year's tournament, Madam?

- We see that every year, many matches take place and are broadcast live on the digital platforms of Hanoi Radio and Television, attracting a large audience. These are eye-catching competitions, excitement from the stands to the tables. The quality of the tournament has been improved and the Vietnam Journalists Association always has a policy of maintaining this tournament for the press every year with the support of sponsors. In the coming years, we expect this will be a table tennis tournament that breaks free from the framework of the press and will be an open table tennis tournament of the Vietnam Journalists Association, where it will create conditions for journalists - excellent players to interact with amateur athletes, thereby hoping to improve the quality of the tournament every year.

The organizers hope that the tournament will become a regular, professional, and impressive sporting event, a destination for journalists who love table tennis. This is not only an opportunity to compete, but also an opportunity to connect, exchange, and affirm the development of Vietnamese journalism.
