On the morning of February 2nd, Mr. Nguyen Duc Hien, Chairman of the People's Committee of Quang Dong commune, Quang Trach district, Quang Binh province, announced that the tomb of General Vo Nguyen Giap will be open to visitors according to fixed hours.
Specifically, the operating hours are from 7:00 AM to 11:30 AM in the morning and from 1:30 PM to 5:00 PM in the afternoon daily.
"Due to a lack of knowledge about the visiting hours, many groups arriving at noon or after 5 PM have to turn back. To ensure a complete and respectful visit to General Vo Nguyen Giap, people need to research and check carefully before going," Mr. Hien said.
According to reports, during the Lunar New Year holiday, many people from all over flocked to the tomb of General Vo Nguyen Giap at Vung Chua - Yen Island in Quang Dong commune, Quang Trach district, to pay their respects. However, due to not knowing the visiting schedule, many had to return disappointed when the tomb was closed.

Many groups of visitors arrived during lunchtime or after 5 PM but were not allowed into the cemetery. Particularly, from 5 PM to 6 PM on the fourth day of Tet (Lunar New Year), many cars reached the gate but were forced to turn back, creating a crowded and congested scene.
A veteran from Nghe An shared that every year his family visits Vung Chua to light incense for the General on their way to Hue to visit relatives. However, this year, due to starting late and not checking the visiting schedule, he arrived when the tomb was already closed. Although disappointed, he respected the regulations and promised to return another time.
To avoid missing their scheduled visit to the graves, people should carefully check the opening hours before setting off, ensuring that their journey to express their respects is complete.
Since the end of September 2024, Mrs. Dang Bich Ha, wife of General Vo Nguyen Giap, has also been brought back to be buried next to the General at Vung Chua - Yen Island. This is a place where thousands of people usually visit during holidays and Tet (Lunar New Year) on their long journey from North to South Vietnam.
