Previously, the parent of the student had texted the homeroom teacher of class 9/5 that the student would not take the entrance exam for public grade 10. Instead, the student would apply to a private grade 10 school and continue high school. The family’s wish was for the student to attend a private school, not because they felt their child was not qualified enough to attend a public school.

The report stated: "After verification, the application form for not taking the public 10th grade entrance exam for the 2024-2025 school year was issued by the school, due to experience from the previous school year. Also according to the above report, on May 4, 2024, at the meeting of the pedagogical council, Ms. Nguyen Thi Thanh Phuong - acting principal of Nguyen Van Bua Secondary School, presented to the council that consulting is the responsibility of the board of directors and teachers in charge of grade 9, but the conclusion is that the decision to take the 10th grade entrance exam or not is the right of the students and their families.
