On September 3, the Department of Education and Training of Phu Tho issued Document No. 879 on guidelines for implementing the organization of teaching 2 sessions/day for general education from the 2025-2026 school year.
Accordingly, for primary school level, teaching is conducted 2 sessions/day, each day is arranged with no more than 7 periods, each period is 35 minutes; implementing a teaching plan of at least 9 sessions/week (equivalent to 32 periods/week).
Session 1 implements the main curriculum according to the 2018 General Education Program issued with Circular No. 32/2018/TT-BGDDT (Circular 32).
Session 2 organizes activities to consolidate and complete knowledge; tutor students who have not completed the requirements; and at the same time, implements extended educational activities: culture, arts, STEM/STEAM, reading culture, school culture, ethics, life skills, finance, traffic safety, foreign languages, sports , digital skills, artificial intelligence (AI), learning about nature - society - culture - local history, and other educational content suitable to the needs, interests, and talents of students.
Flexible and diverse organization, combining guided self-study, group study, experiential learning, club activities, practical activities and social interaction.
For junior high school and high school levels, teach 2 sessions/day according to the roadmap; organize and implement teaching 2 sessions/day in schools with adequate facilities and teaching staff; arrange a timetable of at least 5 days/week, maximum 11 sessions/week; no more than 7 periods per day, each period 45 minutes.
Teaching content and form for secondary school level, session 1 implements the main curriculum according to the 2018 General Education Program Circular 32.
Session 2 organizes review and tutoring for students who have not met requirements; fosters excellent students; reviews for final year students; implements scientific and technical research activities, career education, experience, STEM/STEAM, reading culture, school culture, ethics, life skills, finance, traffic safety, foreign languages, sports, arts, digital skills, artificial intelligence (AI) and other activities suitable to students' needs and interests.
The organization is diverse and flexible, including group study by level, hobby clubs, guided self-study, combining in-class learning with out-of-class activities, libraries, multi-purpose halls, playgrounds, etc.
High school level, session 1 implements the 2018 General Education Program, including compulsory and elective subjects, educational activities and learning topics according to Circular 32 and Circular No. 13/2022/TT-BGDDT.
Session 2 organizes review and tutoring for weak students; fosters excellent students; reviews for high school graduation exams; conducts scientific research, career education, experiences, STEM/STEAM, reading culture, school culture, life skills, career counseling, volunteering, finance, traffic safety, foreign languages, sports, arts, digital skills, artificial intelligence (AI) and other educational activities suitable for practice.
The organization is based on group learning based on ability, specialized clubs, and guided self-study; combining in-school learning with out-of-school activities; coordinating with universities, research institutes, vocational training institutions, businesses, and social organizations to support the effective implementation of 2-session/day teaching.
According to the Phu Tho Department of Education and Training, the goal of organizing 2 sessions/day is to improve the quality of comprehensive education in the aspects of Morality - Intelligence - Physical Education - Aesthetics, focusing on moral education, life values, life skills, STEM/STEAM, reading culture, school culture, physical education, art, finance; develop foreign language skills, digital skills, artificial intelligence (AI) skills, aesthetic skills; form habits and awareness of lifelong learning for students.
Increase the effectiveness of regular school hours; overcome the situation of illegal extra teaching and learning; build a healthy, safe and fair educational environment in access to education.
Effectively utilize teaching staff, facilities, and teaching equipment; promote innovation in teaching, testing, and assessment methods in the direction of developing students' capacity and qualities; and at the same time promote socialization to develop sustainable education...
