National Assembly approves appointment of 3 new Deputy Prime Ministers

The National Assembly has just passed a Resolution approving the Prime Minister's proposal to appoint Deputy Prime Ministers for the 2021-2026 term for Mr. Nguyen Hoa Binh , Mr. Ho Duc Phoc and Mr. Bui Thanh Son.

Afternoon of August 26, at At the 8th extraordinary session, with the majority of delegates in favor, the National Assembly passed resolutions approving the Prime Minister 's proposal on the appointment of a number of Deputy Prime Ministers and Ministers for the 2021-2026 term.

Specifically, with 432/432 delegates present in favor (accounting for 89.81% of the total number of National Assembly delegates), the National Assembly approved the Prime Minister's proposal to appoint Deputy Prime Ministers for the 2021-2026 term for Mr. Nguyen Hoa Binh, Politburo member, Secretary of the Party Central Committee; Mr. Ho Duc Phoc, Party Central Committee member, Secretary of the Party Committee, Minister of Finance; Mr. Bui Thanh Son, Party Central Committee member, Member of the Government Party Committee, Secretary of the Party Committee, Minister of Foreign Affairs.

With the three newly appointed personnel, the Government leadership currently has six people including Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and five Deputy Prime Ministers: Tran Hong Ha, Le Thanh Long, Nguyen Hoa Binh, Bui Thanh Son and Ho Duc Phoc.

Next, with 426/426 delegates present in favor (accounting for 88.57% of the total number of National Assembly delegates), the National Assembly approved the Prime Minister's proposal on the appointment of Ministers for the 2021-2026 term for Mr. Do Duc Duy, member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Head of the National Assembly Delegation of the 15th term of Yen Bai province, to hold the position of Minister of Natural Resources and Environment; Nguyen Hai Ninh, member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Khanh Hoa Provincial Party Committee, to hold the position of Minister of Justice.

The Resolutions take effect from the date of approval by the National Assembly on August 26, 2024.

Also at the session, with the majority of delegates in agreement, the National Assembly passed a Resolution approving the Prime Minister's proposal to dismiss the Deputy Prime Minister for the 2021-2026 term for Mr. Tran Luu Quang and Le Minh Khai, and dismissed Mr. Le Thanh Long from the position of Minister of Justice and Mr. Dang Quoc Khanh
