There will be a world-class New Year's Eve festival in Thu Duc (HCMC)

VOV.VN - The New Year's festival – City Tet Fest Thu Duc 2025 – will take place over 5 days, with 2 nights of grand music festivals featuring talented international artists and leading Vietnamese singers. This information was announced by the People's Committee of Thu Duc City (Ho Chi Minh City) at a press conference held on the afternoon of October 31st.
City Tet Fest Thu Duc 2025 is an iconic event of Thu Duc City, taking place from December 28, 2024 to January 1, 2025 at Saigon Riverfront Park (Thu Thiem Ward, Thu Duc City). This is the first multi-faceted, multi-experience New Year's festival organized in Ho Chi Minh City, combining culture, community, technology, and sustainability. Designed on the scale and format of major festivals around the world, City Tet Fest promises to become an attractive entertainment destination for city residents and draw domestic and international tourists during the New Year 2025.
A special highlight of City Tet Fest 2025 is the world-class music stage, grandly designed like a global music festival. The program includes two major music shows: the opening night on December 28th and the New Year's Eve Countdown on December 31st, 2024.
Nguyen Ky Phung, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Thu Duc City, delivered a speech. The festival brings together many talented artists from around the world and leading Vietnamese singers. The fusion of traditional and modern music, of multiple generations of artists, and of Vietnamese and international artists on the same stage will create unique and impressive performances. For the first time, the spirit of "community" will be celebrated and enhanced at City Tet Fest Thu Duc 2025, where communities from all fields will converge to create a vibrant tapestry of Vietnamese culture and vitality, including the community of artists and creative arts, the hip-hop community, the X-Game community, the traditional cuisine community, and the Vietnamese agricultural products community... "The message that Thu Duc City wants to send to people both domestically and internationally is that national culture is always one of the elements that the people of Thu Duc cherish. That is a common point and an important driving force for Thu Duc City to accompany its people and businesses," said Mr. Nguyen Ky Phung, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Thu Duc City.
Representatives of the Organizing Committee introduced the scale of the festival. Ms. Tran Tue Tri, Advisor and co-founder of Vietnam Brand Purpose, said that when mentioning a city or a country, people often think of certain characteristic festivals. For example, Japan has the cherry blossom festival; Thailand has the water festival… and Ho Chi Minh City in general and Thu Duc City in particular are characterized by the winding Saigon River. Therefore, organizing a festival along the Saigon River from Ba Son Bridge to Thu Thiem Bridge will create a festival rich in Vietnamese cultural identity while also infusing a modern spirit into Tet, making Tet more accessible and integrated into the lives of young people and international tourists.
The Organizing Committee answers questions from the media. The Organizing Committee hopes to hold this festival annually on an international scale, making it a new destination for tourists and residents of the city; thereby contributing to the implementation of the city's cultural industry development strategy until 2030. At the same time, it is an opportunity to integrate traditional culture into the modern era, preserve and spread the values of Vietnamese heritage to the world, and contribute to transforming heritage into assets for building Vietnam's national brand.
