Currently, the water level of the Tich River is rising and is forecast to continue rising, potentially peaking tomorrow afternoon (August 27). The water is receding slowly, posing a risk of landslides and flooding in riverside areas and low-lying regions, affecting agricultural production and the lives of local people.

Many roads and residential areas in the ward were severely flooded. In particular, in Cam An alley, water overflowed into people's homes, causing localized flooding affecting about 10 households with water levels ranging from 30-40cm, and in the deepest areas reaching over 1 meter.
Immediately after receiving the information, police, military , and local security forces arrived to assist residents in raising and moving people and property to safety, and requested the Son Tay Power Company to cut off electricity to ensure the safety of the area.

In some streets, such as Thuan Nghe, Nguyen Thai Hoc, and the HUD urban area, the water level rose, causing flooding up to about 0.7m deep. Authorities have set up warning checkpoints at several points and advised people to avoid low-lying areas or streets where warning checkpoints have been set up.

According to Nguyen Thi Thu Huong, Chairwoman of the Son Tay Ward People's Committee: Given the complex developments of Typhoon No. 5, the ward has informed and advised residents on traffic safety. Specifically: Motorcyclists should turn off their engines and walk their bikes through flooded areas to ensure safety. Car drivers should avoid driving through areas where the water level exceeds half the wheel; if they must drive, they should maintain a steady speed and avoid sudden braking to prevent engine damage; and children should not be allowed outside during heavy rain. For households in affected areas, residents should proactively elevate their belongings, move people and property to safe locations, and closely monitor announcements and warnings from the authorities to respond promptly...
The leaders of Son Tay ward also directed functional forces to strengthen inspections in the area, promptly handle situations caused by storms and heavy rain, and ensure the safety of people's lives and property in the area.
