
This is an event, a joyful festival of ethnic people in the key growing area of the specialty tangerine called Bac Kan tangerine, in the northern region of Thai Nguyen province.
The festival was attended by comrade Hoang Duy Chinh, member of the Party Central Committee, member of the National Assembly Standing Committee, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Ethnic Council of the 15th National Assembly; leaders of Thai Nguyen province.
From early morning, many people inside and outside the commune gathered at the sports ground of Bach Thong commune. At the display areas, agricultural products of oranges and tangerines were beautifully displayed and arranged by the villages and hamlets.
The event opened with special performances by ethnic people in Bach Thong commune.
According to Secretary of the Party Committee of Bach Thong Commune Ma Thi Man, the Resolution and action program to implement the resolution of the Commune Party Congress for the 2025-2030 term identified agriculture and forestry as the strength of the locality, including orange and tangerine trees.
The commune aims to renovate and replant old areas, apply science and technology in care and preservation, and expand the area of citrus trees according to VIETGAP standards, aiming for organic; deeply process citrus trees, creating products with higher added value.

According to the Organizing Committee, this festival will have many rich and attractive activities to promote and connect the consumption of orange and tangerine products in particular and agricultural products in general.
On December 6, there will be activities such as pounding sticky rice cakes, playing folk games; experiencing check-in at tangerine gardens; organizing a job fair; displaying orange, tangerine, and agricultural product stalls; and competing in volleyball. Notably, on the first day, the leaders of Bach Thong commune will directly livestream selling oranges and tangerines with the people.

On December 7, there will be sports competitions; games with orange and tangerine products; sightseeing and shopping; and continued livestreaming of orange and tangerine sales. This time, Bach Thong commune will also introduce some new products made from oranges and tangerines, such as: orange wine, orange syrup, etc.
Bach Thong is a commune formed on the basis of merging Duong Phong, Quang Thuan and Dong Thang communes, which are key communes growing Bac Kan specialty tangerines. This native tangerine variety has been granted geographical indication, is an endemic product of the northern region of Thai Nguyen province.
Currently, Bach Thong commune has more than 500 hectares of orange and tangerine trees, of which about 400 hectares are in harvest. The average yield per crop is about 5,000 tons.
The whole commune has more than 500 households participating in growing tangerines, many of which have an income of 100 to 300 million VND/crop. Oranges and tangerines are the main crops and the main livelihood of ethnic minorities in the commune.
