Industry is developing rapidly.
In Thang Binh district, there are 9 industrial clusters (ICs) planned according to the decision of the Provincial People's Committee, with a planned land area of over 156.8 hectares. Of these, 4 ICs have been established and are in operation: Ha Lam - Cho Duoc, Binh An, Ke Xuyen - Quan Go, and Quy Xuan.
These days, the production and business activities of Seaside Sofa Cut & Sew Co., Ltd. (Ha Lam Industrial Park - Cho Duoc) are very vibrant. Ms. Trinh Thi Minh Thuy, assistant director of the company, said that in 2024, the enterprise exported more than 800,000 sofa sets to the US market. The company is currently providing employment for 360 workers with stable incomes.
The company has been operating since 2020, maintaining stable production and business despite the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic. Thanks to recruiting and retraining a highly skilled workforce, the sofa production process has achieved high quality, meeting the stringent requirements of the demanding US market.
Peak Outdoor Co., Ltd. is also doing well in its business at the Ha Lam - Cho Duoc Industrial Park. In 2024, the company produced over 200,000 tents for export to the US and European markets, generating considerable revenue. The company currently has a stable workforce of 370 people.
Mr. Zhao Lin, Deputy Director of Peak Outdoor Co., Ltd., stated that since its inception, the company has received attention and support from the local government in overcoming difficulties. The local workforce meets the high demands of producing export products. Peak Outdoor Co., Ltd. has recently invested in an additional factory to expand its production and business scale. The company needs to purchase another factory and recruit workers to fulfill export orders.
According to Mr. Le Quang Hat, Permanent Deputy Secretary of the Thang Binh District Party Committee, the total value of the industrial and construction sector in 2024 reached 6,421 billion VND (achieving 100.72% of the 2024 plan, an increase of more than 10.9% compared to 2023).
Most manufacturing businesses in the industrial clusters operate stably and are increasingly developing, expanding their production and business scale. The main industrial products of Thang Binh district include garment manufacturing, mineral extraction, building materials production, and processing of agricultural, forestry, and aquatic products. Industrial activities provide employment for thousands of workers, contributing to the socio -economic development of the locality and improving the living standards of the people.
New motivation
According to Mr. Nguyen Van Thong, Director of the Thang Binh District Land Development and Industrial Services Center, the district has recently attracted four industrial investment projects.
This includes the Ha Lam furniture manufacturing plant of Ha Lam Furniture Import-Export Co., Ltd. with a total investment of 42 billion VND; the foam manufacturing plant of Ha Lam Furniture Import-Export Co., Ltd. with a total investment of approximately 48 billion VND; the loose furniture manufacturing plant of Thang Binh Trading & Technical Engineering Co., Ltd. with a total investment of approximately 35 billion VND; and the YNG Hua aluminum profile processing plant of Asean Quang Nam Co., Ltd. with a total investment of approximately 32 billion VND.
Mr. Nguyen Van Thong stated that the development orientation for the industrial sector in Thang Binh district focuses on attracting investment from businesses to develop industry into a key sector, creating momentum for the transformation of the local economic structure. Industrial development is based on linking sectoral planning with regional planning to create synergy and mutual impact for development.
The district is coordinating with provincial agencies to expand the Tam Thang Industrial Park to Binh Sa commune and the Dong Que Son Industrial Park to Binh Phuc and Binh Giang communes. Thang Binh district also plans to upgrade the Ha Lam - Cho Duoc Industrial Cluster into an industrial park.
"The district will continue to mobilize and attract resources to invest in improving the infrastructure of industrial clusters; effectively implement policies and mechanisms, develop projects with opportunities; and especially accelerate administrative reforms, strengthen promotion and attract investment in the industrial sector," Mr. Thong said.
According to Mr. Le Quang Hat, the overall goal of industrial development in the area is to focus on in-depth industrial development, gradually modernizing existing industrial production, strongly developing industries with competitive advantages, creating high added value, and meeting the needs of both domestic and export markets.
The district is utilizing mechanisms and policies to continue promoting and attracting investment in order to increase the occupancy rate of industrial clusters that have been detailedly planned. Thang Binh district's priority in industrial development is to promote the development of processing industries that utilize local raw materials and labor, while focusing on environmental protection, green production, and sustainability.
