Specifically, at around 9 PM on July 4th, while driving her child home to Hamlet 6, Kien Bai Commune, Thuy Nguyen District, Hai Phong City, nurse Thao saw a man carrying a newborn baby who had stopped breathing and was turning blue... getting into a taxi. Behind them, a woman was running after them, weeping hysterically.
Immediately, Ms. Thao left her child behind, ran after the taxi, and introduced herself as a medical professional. Then, she got into the car, took the baby from the man's arms, and quickly performed first aid, including chest compressions, artificial respiration, and suctioning from the nose and mouth.

The incident was recorded by the taxi's camera. In the clip, nurse Thao is seen performing resuscitation while repeatedly saying, " Keep going, keep going, keep going... hit the baby's legs hard so it will cry ." After strenuous resuscitation efforts, the child was able to breathe again.
Ms. Thao was in the ambulance with the child's family, continuously assisting with emergency care during the journey to Thuy Nguyen District General Hospital. After receiving first aid at Thuy Nguyen District General Hospital, the child was transferred to Hai Phong Children's Hospital for further treatment. Currently, the child is out of critical condition and in stable health.
The leaders of Hai Phong Children's Hospital stated that nurse Thao has worked at the hospital for a long time, having worked in the Neonatal Department for many years. She is proficient in performing respiratory and circulatory resuscitation procedures, almost instinctively. Nurse Thao's actions are humane, demonstrating the sense of responsibility of nurses as well as medical staff and doctors.
