In the video, he uses the familiar voice of G-Man to say, "Hopefully the next quarter of this century will bring as many surprises as the last one... See you in the new year."

This is a notable move because Shapiro has not been seen in public since 2020, when he participated in the promotional campaign for Half-Life: Alyx . In an interview at the time, Shapiro revealed that he was working on a "reminiscent" project but was not allowed to share further details. Shapiro's ambiguous comments and sudden return have led the fan community to believe that this new project could be related to Half-Life 3 .

Additionally, multiple leaks from Valve have revealed an internal project codenamed "HLX," which is believed to be a non-VR game set in the Half-Life universe.
